Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Lighting Technical Manager to join our team!
Job Description:
As a Lighting Technical Manager, you will serve as the primary lighting authority on the project, leading the planning and execution of all lighting systems across relevant spaces. You will ensure lighting supports media, show, and game-related content in line with creative intent, guest experience, and operational reliability.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Serving as the primary lighting authority, advising on best practices, upgrades, and long-term technical strategy.
- Managing and leading the planning and execution of all lighting systems across site spaces, ensuring successful integration and operation of media, show, and game-related content.
- Presenting regular progress reports to the client, highlighting ongoing activities, issues, upcoming milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensuring all lighting systems are aligned with the established creative intent and overall guest experience and are operationally reliable and stable.
- Overseeing all attraction lighting systems including show and attraction lighting, queue-line lighting, ride show scenes, and other venue lighting.
- Leading lighting programming, cueing, calibration, and integration into ride timelines or show-control sequences.
- Ensuring all fixtures, bulbs, drivers, and DMX/lighting control systems are maintained and optimized.
- Creating and implementing preventive maintenance programmes and emergency repair procedures.
- Coordinating and overseeing lighting integration with ride systems, animatronics, automation, sequencing, and parkwide screens (media, game, gamification/personalization screens).
- Reviewing show-control logic, cueing, and timing to ensure seamless synchronization for lighting components.
- Participating on-site in attraction commissioning, integration weeks, dry/wet runs, and acceptance testing, and maintaining knowledge of show timelines and operational impacts.
- Managing relationships between the consultant, client, and relevant vendors and subcontractors, including ride vendors, show integrators, game developers, and gamification vendors.
- Overseeing on-site installation and programming teams during testing and commissioning.
- Managing and overseeing training of operations and maintenance staff on lighting systems, safety, and troubleshooting.
- Maintaining complete lighting documentation (system diagrams, rack layouts, patch schedules, signal flows, DMX maps, asset inventories) and updating documentation after on-site integration activities.
- Ensuring lighting systems comply with safety, electrical, and site operational standards.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Relevant educational qualifications and certificates.
- At least 12 years of relevant experience, including experience in similar roles in theme parks and experience centers.
