Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Project Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee the Earthworks package for the airport development project.
This position requires managing bulk excavation, grading, backfilling, and foundation preparation to ensure the Earthworks package is delivered in accordance with the project’s Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), budget, and quality standards. The Senior Project Manager will coordinate with multiple teams, manage resources, and ensure that the project adheres to safety and environmental regulations.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and manage the Earthworks package, covering bulk excavation, grading, backfilling, and foundation preparation for the project site.
- Ensure the Earthworks package is delivered in accordance with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and project milestones.
- Oversee the management of the package from initiation to completion, ensuring that all activities are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Coordinate with the Logistics Team, Relocations Team, and other project teams to ensure smooth integration of the Earthworks activities while maintaining distinct resources for each package.
- Manage dependencies between workstreams, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of all packages while avoiding delays or resource conflicts.
- Ensure alignment between the PMC, DP, and CS teams, managing the flow of information and ensuring that all deliverables are met.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with the Earthworks package, including potential delays, safety hazards, and resource conflicts.
- Proactively address technical challenges encountered during the Earthworks phase of the project.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to resolve issues and keep the project on track.
- Oversee the effective management of resources, including labor, machinery, and materials required for the Earthworks package.
- Monitor and manage the project budget for Earthworks, ensuring that all activities remain within the approved financial framework.
- Report on any budget variances and recommend corrective measures to senior management.
- Ensure that all Earthworks activities comply with the required quality standards and project specifications.
- Lead quality control efforts and conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to the highest standards.
- Address any deviations from quality standards promptly and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and enforce adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations throughout all Earthworks activities.
- Ensure that all operations are carried out with the highest safety standards and that all necessary environmental protections are in place.
- Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Prepare detailed progress reports for senior management, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and risks.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for the Earthworks package, including permits, approvals, work completion reports, and other relevant records.
- Ensure that all reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with project requirements.
What Required Skills You'll Bring;
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on earthworks or similar large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in managing bulk earthworks, grading, excavation, and foundation preparation on complex projects.
- Experience working with PMC, DP, and CS teams, ensuring smooth coordination and integration of multiple workstreams.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Deep technical knowledge of earthworks operations and construction methods.
- Familiarity with project management tools and software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong financial acumen for managing budgets and resources effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of bulk earthworks, grading, and preparation for foundations, especially in large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to identify and mitigate risks related to earthworks activities, particularly those that could impact project timelines or costs.
- Experience enforcing strict safety and environmental compliance in earthworks or construction-related activities.
