Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Package Manager – Earthworks to join our team! In this role you will get to successfully deliver of the Earthworks package on the airport development project. This role involves managing bulk excavation, grading, backfilling, and foundation preparation while ensuring that the project stays on track according to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).

The Senior Package Manager will provide leadership, manage resources, and resolve technical challenges to deliver the Earthworks package safely, on time, and within budget.

What You'll Be Doing;

  • Lead and manage the Earthworks package, including bulk excavation, grading, backfilling, and foundation preparation activities.
  • Ensure that the Earthworks package aligns with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and project milestones, delivering the work on time and within budget.
  • Monitor and control the scope of the Earthworks package, ensuring it is delivered in compliance with project requirements and specifications.
  • Coordinate and work closely with the Logistics Team and Relocations Team to ensure integration of earthworks activities, while maintaining separate resources for each package.
  • Ensure that the Earthworks package complements other parallel activities and aligns with the overall project schedule and resources.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between the Earthworks team and the PMC, DP, and CS teams to manage dependencies.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to the Earthworks package, including potential delays, safety issues, and resource conflicts.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions where needed to keep the Earthworks package on track and aligned with the project’s objectives.
  • Provide solutions to technical challenges encountered during the Earthworks phase of the project.
  • Oversee the management of resources required for the Earthworks package, ensuring that adequate labor, machinery, and materials are allocated efficiently.
  • Track and monitor the Earthworks package budget, ensuring that all activities remain within the approved financial framework.
  • Report any variances or discrepancies and recommend corrective actions to senior leadership.
  • Ensure all Earthworks activities meet the required quality standards, including adherence to project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation of quality control measures, conducting regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with project standards.
  • Ensure that any deviations from quality standards are addressed and rectified in a timely manner.
  • Lead and enforce strict adherence to safety standards and environmental regulations throughout all phases of the Earthworks package.
  • Ensure that all earthworks activities are carried out with the highest levels of safety and environmental protection.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and risks for senior management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all Earthworks activities, including progress reports, permits, approvals, and work completion certificates.
  • Provide status updates to senior leadership and stakeholders as required, ensuring transparency and alignment with overall project goals.

What Required Skills You'll Bring;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in construction and project management, with at least 5 years focusing on earthworks packages.
  • Proven experience managing bulk earthworks, grading, excavation, and foundation preparation on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience in coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, including Logistics, Relocations, and other construction teams, ensuring smooth package integration.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Strong technical background with a thorough understanding of earthworks operations and construction methods.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and resolve conflicts between different packages or workstreams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make timely decisions under pressure.
  • Deep understanding of bulk earthworks processes, including excavation, grading, backfilling, and preparation of foundation areas.
  • Proven track record of identifying and mitigating risks associated with earthworks activities.
  • Experience leading safety and environmental compliance efforts on large construction projects, particularly in earthworks and ground preparation.
