Job Description:

SENIOR DRAINAGE ENGINEER

Work as part of a team to lead drainage design for FDOT projects in Florida.  Provide analysis and design solutions for complex drainage issues, and provide oversight for drainage design, detailing and/or review during the planning, design and construction phases of FDOT and municipal transportation projects. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead drainage design for FDOT and municipal transportation projects in Florida from conception to completion in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule.
  • Develop drainage concepts and performs/oversees hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.  Prepares drainage calculations, reports and design plans in accordance with FDOT standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders/agencies, other engineering disciplines and internal team members during the life of a project, and has the ability to communicate high-level concepts effectively.
  • Understand applicable regulatory criteria, and develop permit applications to obtain Environmental Resource Permits (ERP) for projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and EIs to foster professional growth and teamwork. 
  • Provide Quality Control reviews when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering 
  • EI (required), ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida within 6 months
  • 8+ years of drainage design experience, including demonstrated experience in FDOT drainage design
  • Proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads Designer and/or Microstation 
  • Excellent verbal communications skills and the ability to interact with clients  clients
  • Attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills
  • Must be able to effectively prioritize and assign work as well as meet deadlines in an organized manner

Salary Range: $88,400.00 - $154,700.00
