Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will design and develop solutions for complex mechanical engineering challenges, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and project requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Design, develop, and determine methods and solutions for complex mechanical engineering problems, selecting efficient and economical approaches.

  • Apply advanced mechanical engineering techniques and analyses across HVAC, firefighting, MEP, piping systems (drain waste & vent, domestic water), and installation/commissioning of mechanical systems.

  • Function as discipline Project Engineer on projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the group.

  • Plan, direct, and supervise the work of the engineering unit or project, managing manpower and financial investments.

  • Lead other engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and contribute to the Quality Improvement Process.

  • Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of mechanical design, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

  • Prepare material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; review supplier data; witness shop tests; assist in assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities.

  • Conduct surveys, studies, and site investigations.

  • Perform reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM), and safety analyses.

  • Develop operation and maintenance (O&M) plans, standard operating procedures, and manuals; conduct on-site training of personnel.

  • Maintain affiliations with professional societies to remain current with technologies.

  • Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for defined scopes and schedules.

  • Assist with administrative and technical duties, recommend, and prepare technical papers.

  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.

Key Relationships:

  • Supervision Received: Supervising Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Manager, Discipline Engineering Manager.

  • Supervision Given: CAD Drafter/Designers; Designers; Lower-level Engineers.

  • Internal Contacts: All employees on project.

  • External Contacts: Suppliers; Clients; Government Entities; 3rd Party Utility Providers.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized/accredited university.

  • 10+ years of related work experience with Middle East exposure.

  • Professional Engineer registration required.

  • Ability to perform in a lead capacity.

  • Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.

  • Familiarity with industry practices and regulations.

  • Thorough knowledge of current technology with ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software for projects.
