Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Junior System Administrator to join our team! In this role you will get to build and operate multi-user Windows and Linux systems to support our growing number of internal engineering networks.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Administer Windows Server, Active Directory/Azure AD, Group Policy, and Linux servers
- Patch systems, monitor health, and respond to alerts/incidents
- Assist with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V/XCP-ng) and backups (e.g., Veeam)
- Automate with PowerShell/Bash and document what you build
- Build/Deploy new systems and apply security hardening tools, e.g., STIGs
- Provision new user accounts with appropriate group and user permissions
- Work closely with Information Assurance professionals to harden and maintain program networks
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalence in industry certifications or apprenticeships
- 0-2 years of experience in IT operations and/or homelab experience with Windows Server and Linux
- Powershell and Bash fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory
- Basic understanding of network technologies such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and VPNs
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- US citizenship
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Certifications needed for DoD 8570 IAT Level II
- Experience with Azure AD/Entra
- Experience with VMware Vsphere or other hypervisor platform (Proxmox, Hyper-V)
- Willingness to obtain and maintain a US security clearance
