Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Field Quality Coordinator to join our team!
The City of Edmonton selected Marigold Infrastructure Partners to design and build the 14-kilometre Valley Line West LRT project from downtown to Lewis Farms. Construction began in 2021. Marigold is a design-build joint venture agreement between Parsons and Colas.
Responsibilities:
- Review construction performance to ensure the early identification of variances and corrective action.
- Ensure early identification and documentation of non-conformities through regular surveillance audits, site walk downs and other forms of Quality Control activities.
- Support external ISO 9001 registration and assessment audit programs
- Hold project team accountable for quality control program requirements and the overall Quality Manual.
- Perform regular surveillance audits to ensure adherence to the ITP program.
- Ensure understanding of the code and specification requirements applicable to the specific scope of work.
- Perform internal and external audits in line with the ISO 9001 standard and the Project Audit Schedule, as assigned.
- Monitor and evaluate the subcontractors' performance and report to the Quality Manager
- Verify project requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.
- Review the material receiving process to ensure all received materials are in conformance with the approved submittal, stored and handled appropriately.
- May attend pre-bid meetings and coordinate project requirements.
- Follow up status of issued non-conformance reports.
- Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system.
- Recommend and implement improvements when required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or Quality discipline or related field (or equivalent work experience) and typically 4+ years of related work experience in the field of Quality.
- Good knowledge and experience in the implementation of problem-solving methodology and performance of root cause analysis (i.e. Six Sigma)
- Good knowledge and experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
- Knowledge of Canadian Building Codes, CSA and ASTM codes.
- Experience interpreting codes and specifications.
- Thorough knowledge of general construction methods and construction codes.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret design documents (drawings and specifications)
- Understands how to research and locate manufacturer's product data and installation guidelines.
- Knowledge of building envelope construction and materials.
- Understands the requirements of fire-rated construction requirements.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and quality management systems.
