CAD Technician

Qatar

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented CAD Technician to join our team in Qatar! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, updating, and maintaining engineering drawings and CAD documentation for roads, drainage, utilities, and associated infrastructure works. You will support the engineering and construction supervision teams by ensuring that drawings and related documentation are accurate, coordinated, and maintained in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.

 

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing, revising, and maintaining CAD drawings and technical documentation for roads, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
• Updating engineering drawings based on approved revisions, site changes, and project requirements.
• Assisting engineers and project teams in the preparation of plans, profiles, cross-sections, details, and other technical drawings.
• Ensuring drawings are prepared in accordance with project standards, drafting procedures, and applicable engineering requirements.
• Coordinating with engineers, surveyors, inspectors, and other project team members to incorporate design updates and field information into project drawings.
• Reviewing drawings for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
• Maintaining drawing registers and ensuring proper version control of project drawings and records.
• Supporting the preparation and review of as-built drawings and project close-out documentation.
• Assisting with the organization and management of electronic drawing files and CAD databases.
• Ensuring drawing deliverables are issued in a timely manner and in accordance with project schedules.
• Supporting document control and project administration processes related to technical drawings and records.
• Participating in coordination meetings and providing technical drafting support as required.
• Maintaining compliance with project quality procedures and document management requirements.

 

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Diploma from a recognized institution.
• 5 years of experience in CAD drafting and technical drawing preparation for construction or infrastructure projects, including 3 years in a similar role.
• Experience preparing and updating engineering drawings related to roads, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure works.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and related drafting software.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawing practices, drafting standards, and technical documentation requirements.
• Experience managing drawing revisions, updates, and document control requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy and quality.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to organize and maintain electronic drawing files and project records.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team environment.

 

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

• Experience supporting major roads, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure projects in Qatar or the GCC region.
• Familiarity with local authority drafting requirements and engineering standards.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure construction supervision projects.
• Knowledge of Civil 3D, MicroStation, BIM platforms, or other engineering design and drafting software.
• Experience preparing and validating as-built drawings and handover documentation.
• Familiarity with document management systems and electronic drawing management platforms.
• Experience coordinating with engineers, surveyors, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple drawing packages and deliverables in a fast-paced project environment.
