Job Description:

Business Development Director, San Diego Area

Parsons is looking for a talented San Diego Area Business Development Lead to join our team! We are looking for a recognized industry leader to focus our team around our strategic growth for  Infrastructure  in San Diego and the broader Southern California region.  This Market Line includes environmental services, design, planning, program and construction management for Transportation. The successful candidate will  coordinate and support business development activities across our entire transportation portfolio; including road & highway, transit & rail, bridges, tunnels, alternative delivery and aviation work. This includes support across various delivery models including traditional design - bid - build; design – build, CMGC, CMAR, etc. It may also include coordination across other sectors including water, wastewater, PFAS, remediation, energy and utilities. Our clients include public agencies, contractor partners and private entities.
 
In this role, you will be responsible for implementing internal and external client-focused strategies to increase our business line market share and build our brand within the region.  As a key member of the business development management team, you will provide overall leadership to achieve sustainable and profitable growth within the region.  Through collaboration with local market line managers, this Director level position is responsible for maintaining and growing Parsons brand as the leader in the infrastructure industry, including developing and growing the geographic market by effectively partnering with top client/agency leaders and forming strategic industry alliances. 

This position will be based in California and is a combination of virtual and in-office.   

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Keep abreast of overall business trends, particularly the current business climate.

  • Participate in monthly pipeline reviews and review of top/near term pursuit strategies.

  • Develop and execute long-term business and marketing strategies consistent with Parsons strategic and financial goals.

  • Leverage and expand your key contacts within private organizations, state and municipal agencies to strengthen client relationships and proactively develop project and program opportunities.

  • Work closely with the broader CA team to engage in effective sales/marketing initiatives to drive market growth across California. 

  • Perform due diligence for opportunities, host win strategies and participate in proposal efforts that entail both conventional/traditional contract and procurement methods as well as alternative project delivery methods.

  • Report and coordinate with the regional and sector leadership; and other Business Development Directors and Managers to maximize Critical Infrastructure’s overall growth goals.

  • Coordinate Events and Memberships with the Infrastructure Team and Corporate Marketing and Communications teams.

  • Work in close coordination with Parsons Government Relations team and any regional advocates to support market priorities and growth.

  • Work with the West team to build pipeline in salesforce, participate in  the quarterly deep dive review process and achieve business plan metrics. 

  • Maintain pipeline of opportunities in salesforce to reflect accuracy of opportunities.

  • Develop and advance pipeline opportunities from identification into viable pursuits.

  • Leverage your key contacts within state and municipal agencies and private organizations to proactively develop project and program opportunities.

  • Build and implement effective sales/marketing initiatives to drive market growth in collaboration with local and regional business line leadership.

  • Support area leadership in the development and management of a client-based strategic plan and support client account meetings with all key clients in the area.

  • For key pursuits, lead the opportunity as business development sponsor and/or capture manager.

  • Be a Parsons representative and seek leadership opportunities of industry organizations including ACEC, WTS, CMAA, APWA and ASCE.

  • Support growth of service line staff into these organizations.

  • Develop and expand client and industry relations including supporting service line team member development of key relationships.

  • Attend regional and industry conferences for client interaction and lead development.

  • Support proposal development and presentation preparation, as requested and required.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 4-year degree in related field and 10+ years of broad and diversified experience within the Transportation industry in the areas.

  • Proven leader in client relationship management, strategic planning, strategic teaming and proposal strategy and negotiation. 

  • Ability to leverage your key contacts with private organizations and state and municipal agencies within the region and build a robust sales pipeline for Parsons.

  • Ability to develop and leverage internal relationships to implement growth strategies.

  • Ability to use/monitor/manage CRM software to track and drive pursuit activities with a broader team.

  • Support the development of relationships with key team members and client partners.

  • Incumbent must also possess strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.

Salary Range: $155,600.00 - $280,100.00
