Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Autonomous Technology Documentation Standards Leader to join our team! In this role, you will serve as a technical writer for a cross-functional engineering discipline Autonomous Technology and Intelligence Program. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge autonomy systems, safety-critical execution, and rigorous operational discipline. A primary focus of the role is unmanned systems (UxS) and counter unmanned systems (C-UxS) engineering documentation review and process standardization. In the autonomous systems industry, exceptional documentation translates directly into functional safety, regulatory compliance and scalable engineering. You will own the auditing, restructuring, and enforcement of universal documentation frameworks across complex project lifecycles ensuring items such as compendium capabilities, architecture designs, and verification protocols are meticulously maintained and documented.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Serve as the primary liaison between the contractor and document stakeholders, including Diplomatic Security leadership and program sponsors.
• Assist in managing timelines and ensuring documentation deliverables and milestones are met.
• Works with senior program and project managers to develop schedules and publish program wide documents.
• Define, build, and scale standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical design review templates, and version control guidelines tailored for autonomous systems.
• Conduct through audits of test plans, systems requirements, operational analysis, employment procedures, and capability assessments.
• Ensure all program artifacts meet exact traceability standards from high-level systems requirements down to code documentation and validation metrics.
• Oversee the structure, access hierarchy, and lifecycle of the team’s central knowledge base and records management.
• Educate and coach engineers on the cultural importance of high-fidelity documentation, technical writing excellence, and uniform process adherence.
• Evaluate test reports, training, operational, maintenance and support documents to continuously update standards and preventative workflows.
• Assist in responding to tasks quickly and analyzing complex technical problems.
• Reviews and produces a variety of written documents including memoranda and summary reports

 

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in technical documentation, editorial review, or systems engineering.
• Experience effectively and professionally communicating technical and program related information to multiple stakeholders and adherence to established communications plans.
• Candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities in dynamic, politically sensitive environments ensuring customer expectations are managed.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with government stakeholders, operators, engineers, and support teams across a wide range of technical backgrounds.
• Extensive experience implementing documentation management systems, building technical frameworks, and enforcing strict version control.
• Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with multiple stakeholders 
• Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills 
• Ability to work both independently and within small teams 
• Strong time management and organization skills 
• Ability to complete and accept accountability for required reports and presentations 
• Ability to establish and data mine a database 
• Exceptional written communication ability 
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification
• Up to 30% travel 
• Secret clearance is required

 

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Experience supporting Diplomatic Security, DoD, or other U.S. Government overseas operational programs.
• Experience supporting audits, inspections, and formal program reviews.
• Experience supporting programs that include test and evaluation, product management, field support, and sustainment functions.
• Strong technical background in C-UAS systems, aviation systems, or networked mission systems.

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $103,500.00 - $181,100.00
