Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented VP, Space System Architect to join our team! In this role you will architect new commercial systems and solutions to drive business growth and strategy, support execution, and take this business forward to be a major player in delivering future space infrastructure and capabilities across the space value chain and adjacent markets as part of the Space Engineering Solutions (SES) directorate.  Expand commercial ground system and satellite payload capabilities to bid more space segment work.

SES Directorate
Our Space Engineering Solutions (SES) directorate is passionate about making America the undisputed leader in the Space Domain because we understand that ensuring our nation’s security for future generations depends on both government and commercial space capabilities.  Parsons creates game changing space domain solutions by teaming highly respected subject matter experts with brilliant technologists.

SES delivers:

  • Delivery of open, common, cyber-secure satellite C2 services within resilient ground architectures with automation and a common user experience that is critical for battle management between the operational and tactical C2 levels

  • Commercial Space Operations services for Command and Control (C2) of government and commercial satellites as a services “aaS”

  • Delivery and continuous advancement of Commercial off-the-shelf products, and Government off-the shelf products for space missions

  • Conduct of lab operations within government owned facilities to support infrastructure hardware and software support for various tools and process applications

  • Development of mission software factory solutions to support data access, integration, application, and product dissemination for both multi-domain uses

  • Launch manifest system integration, payload bus integration, and secondary payload integration on standard launch adapter rings

What You'll Be Doing:

Architecture and Solution Development focused on Growth of Commercial Solution Capabilities from across the entire company portfolio to deliver end-to-end space capabilties

  • Develop, document, and communicate the space system solutions in collaboration with key leaders and engineers across the corporation

  • Establish specific strategic objectives that are measurable and measure progress against those objectives diligently

  • Support planning for IR&D and technology investments required to execute the strategy, drive execution of IR&D plans, and ensure we are investing in capabilities that create competitive advantage to achieve the strategy

New Business Development

  • Own and lead solution development supporting growth activities for the business partnering with Business Development to build customer relationships in the market. 

  • Identify opportunities that align with our core capabilities, and commercial architecture solutions aligned with a pipeline of opportunities to achieve strategic objectives.

  • Actively engage in regular customer engagements to build the relationships needed to architecture solutions aligned with our growth strategy

  • Proactively connect with stakeholders and key customers in order to shape and develop solutions for qualified business opportunities

Customer Engagement

  • Outstanding and ongoing client engagement, demonstrating the ability to effectively diagnose client needs, propose and develop solutions that have a positive business impact

  • Engages in industry associations

Executive engagement and management skills

  • Partner across the company for delivery of multi-directorate integrated solutions

  • Foster a culture of high trust, transparent communications and development opportunities

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • B.S. degree in science or engineering, M.S. desirable

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience with an emphasis on space system solution development aligned with growth objectives

  • Department of Defense, Civil and Commercial space domain knowledge

  • Proven ability to develop and architecture space system solutions leading to business growth and capture of major strategic pursuits

  • Formation of internal and external technical partnerships

  • Strong experience with customer and industry relations in space systems

  • TS clearance required with ability to obtain SCI

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Top Secret security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $186,800.00 - $357,100.00

This position is eligible for incentive compensation.
