Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a dynamic Vice President, Mission Technology & Strategic Acquisition to join our Defense and Intelligence (D&I) team. Focus on driving innovation, strategic growth and mission-focused technology solutions in support of DoD and IC customers. This executive leader will be responsible for identifying and advancing emerging technologies, shaping technical strategy, and leading strategic acquisitions that enhance our capabilities and competitive positioning. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in defense and intelligence, with a proven track record of building high-impact technology portfolios, fostering key customer and industry relationships, and executing growth strategies through both organic development and collaboration. This role requires a visionary leader with strong business acumen, acquisition knowledge, technical insight, and the ability to translate mission requirements into cutting-edge solutions that support national security and government operations.
You will engage in senior level discussions both internal to the company, across industry, and with customers. You will work with a team of like-minded individuals who are passionate about our mission and bring complementary subject matter expertise. You will have opportunities for both mentoring and mentorship within our organization. Finally, the ideal candidate is interested in joining a company with significant career growth opportunities that may include incubating and launching new organizations focused on these strategic growth initiatives, leading a business unit (Profit & Loss), and/or leading technology development programs. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Strategy for D&I.
What You'll Be Doing:
Develop and execute acquisition strategies that integrate critical and emerging technologies, ensuring alignment with funded mission gaps and government priorities.
Establish and strengthen relationships with mission partners, funding sources, and contracting agencies to optimize business capture strategies and enhance Parsons’ competitive position.
Leverage Parsons’ enterprise-wide strengths by identifying synergies across its full portfolio to drive innovative, multi-domain solutions for customers.
Enhance and elevate Parsons’ program management, risk management, systems engineering, and staffing strategies to ensure operational excellence and mission success.
Expand Parsons’ strategic presence in key defense, intelligence, space, cyber, and airborne organizations within the DoD and IC through targeted business and account strategies.
Oversee the identification, definition, and initial execution of high-priority pursuits and programs across the Defense & Intelligence (D&I) portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate growth objectives.
Shape and guide Internal R&D (IR&D) and Contract R&D (CR&D) investments to enhance Parsons’ technological capabilities and position the company as an industry leader in mission-driven solutions.
Identify and pursue strategic opportunities in Geographical Combatant Command AORs, driving business expansion and revenue growth in alignment with Parsons’ long-term vision and business objectives
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
15+ years diversified experience in Business Development, Program Management, and/or direct customer mission experience.
Demonstrated ability to build and execute customer contact plans to position Parson’s capabilities at the most senior levels as well as influence requirements and acquisition strategies.
Build and maintain a documented account strategy that identifies strategic mission and technology thrusts, investments, and opportunities within the account.
Established industry and government relationships, understanding, and track record of growth, focused on special programs.
Relationship builder who creates strategic alliances with organization leaders to align our capabilities, experience, investments, and resources.
Proven track record to build and successfully execute strategies that have led to creation and successful execution of large programs (i.e., $100M or greater).
Understanding of current market trends, mission needs, and differentiated technical solutions.
Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
Must be willing and able to travel, as required, 5-20%.
TS clearance with eligibility for SCI and SAP
