Position Overview:

We are looking for a recognized Leader, based in Canada, to lead our sales, business development and overall growth strategy for the Canadian Sector within our North American Infrastructure group.  Market Lines include design, planning, program and construction administration and management, environmental services, infrastructure/technology system delivery for roads, bridges, tunnels, rail, transit, and aviation.  The Canadian BD Sector Lead will manage a team of Regional BD Directors and will work in close collaboration with the five other North American BD Sector Leads (US East, US West, Energy & Environment, Intelligent Infrastructure, and Water/WW/PFAS) and the Canadian Integrated Delivery BD Leads.  As the Canadian BD Sector Lead you will work in close cooperation with the Operations Sector Manager and the associated Regional Operations Leads to promote close collaboration and alignment. 

In this role, you will be responsible for implementing external customer-focused strategies to increase our market presence and build our brand within these important market lines.  As a key member of the business development management team, you will provide overall leadership to achieve sustainable and profitable growth within the Canadian sector.   Through leadership and collaboration with operations managers, this position is responsible for maintaining and growing Parsons reputation and revenue as the leader in the infrastructure industry, including developing and growing the market by effectively partnering with top customer/agency leaders and forming and developing strategic industry alliances. 

This candidate can be based anywhere in Canada and would travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Keep abreast of overall business trends, particularly the current business climate.

  • In concert with the Regional BD Directors, establish regional goals and strategies and continually evaluate resource allocation and market focus, including but not limited to frequent pipeline reviews and review of top/near term pursuit strategies.

  • Develop and execute long-term business and marketing strategies consistent with Parsons strategic and financial goals.

  • Build and implement effective sales/marketing initiatives to drive market growth across the entire Canadian BD Team and across Sectors within Critical Infrastructure North America.

  • Work with your Regional BD Leads to build pipeline in salesforce, oversee the quarterly deep dive review process and lead the team in meeting business plan metrics.

  • Leverage and expand your key contacts within the consulting industry to strengthen client relationships, develop teaming partners, and proactively develop project and program opportunities.

  • Have strong business acumen, drive and tenacity to identify early, and act upon opportunities to promote the Company's expertise and successful past performance.

  • Cultivate new and ongoing business development activities.  Typical responsibilities include major client accounts and major proposal/project activities.    

  • Manage complex win strategies and proposal efforts that entail both conventional/traditional contract and procurement methods as well as driving input with alternative project delivery methods.

  • Align with your Regional BD Directors and Operational leaders to understand Parsons value proposition for the pursuit and to help drive expansion and growth.

  • Provide leadership and guidance through all stages of major pursuits.  If vital, engage in the capture manager role for the pursuit.

  • Attend client and industry events as needed, bringing a structured, proactive approach to maximize Parsons’ presence through pre-planning, breakout client meetings, client dinners, and clear follow-up actions.

  • Coordinate Events and Memberships with the Infrastructure Team and Corporate Marketing and Communications teams.

  • Work in close coordination with Parsons Government Relations team and any regional advocates.

  • Closely oversee the full Canadian pipeline in Salesforce to ensure completeness and overall accuracy.

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • 4-year degree in related field and 20+ years of broad and diversified experience within the infrastructure market, including as a business development leader with experience in Canada. 

  • Proven leader in client relationship management, strategic planning, strategic teaming and proposal strategy and negotiation. 

  • Exceptional ability to leverage your key contacts, represent the Company favorably to develop new clients, and to negotiate with key members of other firms.

  • With Parsons having a strong presence in Quebec, proficiency in French is an asset.

Skills and Competencies: 
 
Requires a working knowledge of infrastructure industry business practices and the negotiation of contracts.  Incumbent must also possess strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a working knowledge of PC software packages typically associated with business development.
