Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Testing and Commissioning Coordinator to join our team! In this role you will get to manage and oversee the testing, commissioning, and handover activities for airfield infrastructure projects.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all airfield systems and equipment are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating complex testing processes, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with contractors and technical teams to ensure safe and successful project delivery.
What You'll Be Doing;
Coordinate and manage the testing and commissioning of airfield systems, including airfield lighting, navigation aids, electrical systems, and other airfield infrastructure.
Assist in developing detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures to ensure all systems are tested and fully functional before project handover.
Work closely with engineering teams and contractors to execute testing and commissioning activities in line with project timelines.
Ensure all systems and equipment undergo rigorous testing to meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Perform inspections, system verifications, and performance testing to confirm that systems comply with industry standards (e.g., ICAO, FAA) and project specifications.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols during testing and commissioning activities.
Identify and troubleshoot any technical issues or discrepancies during the testing and commissioning phases.
Collaborate with engineers and contractors to resolve issues and implement corrective actions to ensure that all systems meet operational requirements.
Maintain clear documentation of any problems encountered and the actions taken to resolve them.
Maintain detailed records of testing and commissioning results, including inspection reports, test certifications, and any issues encountered.
Prepare and submit progress reports to project managers, stakeholders, and clients, highlighting key milestones, issues, and resolutions.
Assist in preparing the final handover documentation, ensuring all necessary documents (test certificates, system manuals, etc.) are complete and delivered on time.
Ensure all testing and commissioning activities are performed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Assist in conducting safety audits and risk assessments during testing activities to minimize the potential for accidents and incidents.
Ensure that team members and contractors adhere to established safety procedures during commissioning tasks.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and stakeholders, to ensure seamless execution of testing and commissioning tasks.
Liaise with project managers to report on the progress of commissioning activities, highlight potential delays, and suggest corrective measures.
Foster effective communication between all project teams to ensure smooth collaboration and timely delivery of tasks.
Support the final handover process by ensuring all airfield systems are fully operational and meet client expectations.
Assist in the preparation of training sessions for client personnel to ensure proper operation of commissioned systems.
Address any client queries or concerns related to the commissioning process and provide ongoing support during the initial operational phase.
What Required Skill's You'll Bring;
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aviation Systems, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in commissioning or testing (e.g., CEng, PMP) are a plus.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in the testing, commissioning, and handover of airfield or large infrastructure systems.
Strong understanding of airfield systems and equipment (e.g., airfield lighting, navigation aids, electrical systems).
Experience in working with contractors, engineers, and project managers in a commissioning role.
Knowledge of industry standards, including ICAO, FAA, and local regulatory requirements.
Experience in using testing and commissioning software tools to monitor and track system performance.
Strong technical troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues during the testing phase.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and ensure timely completion.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to report findings and coordinate activities effectively.
Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or similar.
Experience with commissioning of complex airfield systems such as radar, lighting, and electrical infrastructures.
Familiarity with CAD software and system design documentation.
Ability to manage testing and commissioning activities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
