The role also requires a basic understanding of software development concepts and hands-on database knowledge to support application and data connectivity issues.
You will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and end users to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient network operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi) across multiple New Jersey locations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, performance problems, and hardware failures.
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices under established standards and procedures.
- Perform root-cause analysis of network incidents; document findings and implement corrective actions.
- Support IT troubleshooting for end users, including network access, VPN, and basic workstation connectivity issues.
- Monitor network health and performance using standard monitoring tools; escalate issues as needed.
- Assist in implementing network changes, upgrades, and patches in coordination with senior engineers.
- Work with application and software teams to diagnose basic integration or connectivity issues between applications and network resources.
- Use SQL or other query tools to run basic queries, validate data connectivity, and support database-related troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, assets, and support procedures.
- Follow change management, incident management, and security policies and procedures.
- Travel to various sites in New Jersey as required to perform on-site assessments, installations, and repairs.
Required Qualifications

- Hands-on experience with:
- Network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, basic routing/switching).
- Network device support (routers, switches; basic firewall understanding is a plus).

- Basic SQL querying (SELECT, JOIN, filtering)
- Understanding of database connectivity (ODBC/JDBC, connection strings, access permissions).
- Familiarity with network monitoring and ticketing systems (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, ServiceNow, Jira, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to troubleshooting.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to various locations across New Jersey.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent.
- Experience in multi-site environments or field support roles.
- Exposure to scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for basic task automation.
- Familiarity with security best practices for network configuration and access control.
Key Competencies
- Customer-focused mindset and service-oriented approach.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
- Ability to work independently at remote sites and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
