PROJECT:
The contractor shall provide engineering support services for the client organization. The contractor shall work with the appropriate government leads to define and execute the engineering processes and activities required to support the fit-up of project specific information technology infrastructure both in terms of passive infrastructure and data center engineering subject matter. The contractor shall provide engineering support guiding the program through a disciplined sequence of steps appropriate to developing a data center and/or passive infrastructure solution to satisfy customer requirements and organizational tactical/strategic objectives.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
Parsons is seeking a Technical Consultant to perform the following:
- Provide support to the requirements gathering process, including identifying, logging, and tracking existing and new IT infrastructure requirements
- Provide guidance and expertise in the creation and implementation of new processes in response to issues or problems
- Create executable schedules, work packages and planning documentation that satisfy requirements
- Coordinate/assist in documenting existing programs into a cohesive architecture
- Prepare Detailed IT solutions/concepts based on Integrated Architecture
- Document site specific IT and facility requirements and provide implementation strategies
- Perform Gap Analysis of existing architecture
- Evaluate facility and IT integration solution alternatives, providing options/solutions while ensuring interoperability of system requirements
- Identify risks or potential obstacles to fulfilling IT architectural requirements
- Provide facility and IT integration oversight
- Collaborate with client service providers to ensure that design documents and delivered services are consistent with the architecture
- Provide status and progress reports through periodic formal reviews and through informal meetings
- Provide conceptual passive IT infrastructure solutions for outside cable plant, inside cable plant, premise cabling systems, and hardware necessary for IT conveyance and racking.
- Collaborate with external and internal active network service providers on network topology planning and implementation of outside cable plant, inside cable plant, premise cabling systems, and hardware necessary for IT conveyance and racking
- Provide and review data center design and integration solutions, understanding the physical aspects of computer systems, and how they relate to facility constraints, such as power, space and cooling
- Coordinate with deployment organization on the integration of new IT systems into client facilities
- Conduct long-term analysis of existing facilities and capabilities along with future trends and requirements
- Review building design and construction drawings/packages representing the interests of passive infrastructure and data center fit-up
- Write and maintain data center and passive communications standards and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 12+ years of experience
- 4-year degree preferred – or equivalent work experience
- Working knowledge of design and engineering processes
- Must be US Citizen
- ACTIVE TS/SCI w/ POLYGRAPH CLEARANCE REQUIRED
