Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Structural Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to assist the Resident Engineer in design review and construction related to the structural aspects of bridge construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
What You'll Be Doing:
Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of bridges, viaducts, and associated items.
Oversee the structural aspects of bridge construction activities, ensuring execution according to project plans and specifications.
Coordinate activities with other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and correspondence related to the bridges section, and prepare replies for the Resident Engineer's review.
Provide technical assistance and guidance to construction teams to achieve compliance and quality objectives.
Coordinate with design engineers to resolve related issues.
Maintain the daily diary and reports prepared by inspectors.
Coordinate with contractor engineers on scheduling and resource allocation.
Direct, assist, and monitor the performance of inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
Convene and chair meetings with service authorities, contractors, subcontractors, and other related parties.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
Achieve safety goals on the project and oversee the implementation of safety procedures.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports.
Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at the site, as required by the Resident Engineer and project safety representatives.
Provide necessary on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer in issuing site instructions regarding utilities works and associated items.
Check and measure performed work, record progress, and assist the Resident Engineer in displaying progress versus programmed work.
Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings within your line of work.
Keep necessary records and as-built documentation, oversee the handing over of structural works to respective service authorities, and assist the contractor in obtaining final clearance.
Analyze engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure they meet project requirements and resolve any discrepancies.
Ensure construction quality and adherence to engineering standards, safety regulations, and contractual requirements.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university is required.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in design review and supervising bridge construction, particularly in metro rail or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction techniques related to bridges.
Knowledge of materials used in bridge construction, such as concrete and steel.
Ability to review and justify material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing, and quality measures, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and use any project-specific engineering and construction-relevant software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong technical writing capabilities.
Working knowledge of construction sequences and standard work procedures in the industry.
Work experience on a large metro rail project with bridge sections is preferable.
Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to bridge construction and infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in bridge construction.

Engineering consultancy experience within UAE/GCC is preferable.
Ability to quickly identify and address construction challenges and discrepancies.
