As a Software Engineer at Parsons you will play a crucial role in troubleshooting and developing technical solutions for our field engineers, technicians, and customers. You will be responsible for creating workaround procedures when standard methods fail and ensuring timely resolution of issues. This position requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Troubleshooting and Technical Solutions: Diagnose and develop technical solutions related to software and setup errors for field engineers, technicians, and customers.
• Workaround Procedures: Create and implement workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
• Escalation: Escalate urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate internal resources.
• Standard Practices: Utilize standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field to achieve goals.
• Goal Planning: Rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Creativity and Latitude: Exercise a certain degree of creativity and latitude in problem-solving and solution development.
• Custom Software Development: Develop and implement custom software algorithms and applications, integrating them with Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government-Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software applications.
• API Familiarity: Work with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
• Interface Messaging: Develop and code interface messaging software components to facilitate communication between systems.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required.
  • Junior – 2+ years experience or 6+ years experience in lieu of degree
  • Journeyman – 5+ years experience or 11+ years experience in lieu of degree
  • Senior – 8+ years experience or 14+ years experience in lieu of degree
  • Lead – Masters and 10+ years experience or 16+ years experience in lieu of degree
• Must have a current/active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance if it is required in the future.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing custom software algorithms and applications.
• Familiarity with COTS and GOTS software applications.
• Experience with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
• Proficiency in coding interface messaging software components.
• Experience in a variety of software programming languages.
• Experience in designing, testing, debugging and documenting software.

Salary Range: 

$70,500.00 - $123,400.00
