Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Utilities (Design Services) - Dry to join our team!
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Review external utilities designs, including overhead and underground electrical networks, high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV), and low-voltage (LV) cables, fiber optic networks, street lighting systems, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Review plans and design submissions prepared by Design-Build (DB) contractors, developers, and utility providers to identify conflicts and interface issues.
- Assess utility conflicts and provide recommendations to support design coordination and project delivery.
- Define utility interface requirements and prioritize critical issues impacting project execution.
- Investigate and report field issues affecting property owners, contractors, and maintenance operations resulting from utility relocations and infrastructure modifications.
- Review installation activities related to external and internal electrical panels and associated utility infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance and support to CAD Designers, Drafters, and junior engineering staff.
- Contribute to infrastructure master planning activities and provide technical input from site investigations and field observations.
- Support the Lead Utilities Engineer during coordination meetings with utility providers, contractors, developers, and project stakeholders.
- Coordinate utility designs and interfaces to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, and utility authority requirements.
- Assist in resolving technical issues related to utility diversions, relocations, and new utility installations.
- Prepare technical reports, assessments, and recommendations related to utility coordination and design activities.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in external utility engineering, including overhead and underground electrical networks, HV, MV, and LV systems, fiber optic networks, street lighting, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of dry utilities design, coordination, and utility relocation requirements.
- Knowledge of challenges associated with the rerouting and relocation of existing utility networks.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other engineering design software.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational and stakeholder coordination abilities.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
- Familiarity with international and local codes, standards, and utility regulations applicable in Riyadh.
- Experience coordinating with local Riyadh utility agencies and authorities.
- Experience on major infrastructure, transportation, rail, or urban development projects.
- Knowledge of multidisciplinary utility coordination and infrastructure planning practices.
