Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Testing and Commissioning Coordinator to join our team! In this role you will get to for oversee the testing, commissioning, and handover of airfield infrastructure, ensuring all systems are fully operational and meet regulatory and safety standards.
This role requires a highly experienced professional with strong leadership and technical skills in managing complex systems, troubleshooting, and coordinating cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will contribute to the successful completion of high-profile airfield projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
What You'll Be Doing;
Oversee and manage all testing and commissioning activities for airfield systems and infrastructure.
Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules to ensure the successful handover of airfield systems.
Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure all systems are tested according to project requirements, specifications, and international aviation standards.
Ensure that all systems and equipment meet the necessary quality and safety standards before final acceptance.
Conduct thorough inspections, performance testing, and verification processes on airfield systems such as lighting, radar, electrical systems, and navigational aids.
Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including those set by aviation authorities, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Lead a multidisciplinary team of technicians, engineers, and contractors during the testing and commissioning phase.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to safety standards.
Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, and external agencies.
Identify, analyze, and resolve any technical issues or non-conformities encountered during the testing and commissioning phases.
Collaborate with project engineers and technical teams to troubleshoot complex system faults and implement corrective actions.
Ensure that all corrective actions are documented and tracked to resolution.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation for all commissioning processes, testing results, and inspections.
Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management, project stakeholders, and clients, outlining project status, issues, and resolutions.
Ensure that final handover documents, including commissioning reports, test certificates, and manuals, are accurately compiled and delivered on time.
Ensure that all testing and commissioning activities are carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
Lead safety audits and risk assessments related to airfield systems, identifying potential hazards and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
Promote a strong safety culture among team members and contractors to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Manage the smooth handover of systems to the client, ensuring all operational and safety requirements are met.
Provide ongoing support to the client during the initial operational phase, addressing any issues and offering guidance on system operation.
Ensure a seamless transition from project completion to operational phase by assisting in system training and familiarization for end users.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in testing and commissioning procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate best practices and lessons learned into future projects.
Stay updated on new technologies, regulations, and industry standards to enhance the commissioning process.
What Required Skills You'll Bring;
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aviation Systems, or a related technical field.
Relevant certifications in Testing and Commissioning (e.g., CEng, PMP, or similar) would be an advantage.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in the testing, commissioning, and handover of airfield systems or large infrastructure projects.
Proven track record of managing complex testing and commissioning processes, especially in airfield or airport-related projects.
Strong experience with airfield systems such as airfield lighting, navigation aids, radar systems, and electrical infrastructure.
In-depth knowledge of testing, commissioning, and handover processes for airfield systems.
Strong understanding of aviation standards, including ICAO, FAA, and local regulatory requirements.
Experience in project management and coordination, with excellent organizational skills.
Advanced problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in using commissioning software and tools for system testing and monitoring.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, clients, and contractors.
Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) or equivalent.
Experience with international airport projects or airfield system design and implementation.
Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Knowledge of sustainable and green technology in airfield systems and infrastructure.
