Job Description:

We have been a leader in transportation design and delivery of civil infrastructure for more than 75 years. We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager / British Columbia Transportation Lead to manage a team of skilled design managers, professional engineers, and technicians.

We are seeking an individual who can lead a team of professionals working on our expanding portfolio of projects. Parsons’ extensive experience in this field, combined with your operational leadership, management, and technical guidance, will propel your career forward with opportunities for advancement with top performance. We need our Senior Project Manager / British Columbia Transportation Lead to be versatile, have exceptional communication, analytical, and management skills. In this role, you demonstrate technical excellence in leadership and highway design engineering in delivering complex transportation projects. You will manage projects through all project life-cycle phases from project inception, programming, design, construction, and closeout.

Reporting directly to the Western Canada Director of Transportation, you provide operational leadership and play an integral part in growing our well-established transportation business in British Columbia. You will serve as a key point of contact with clients throughout British Columbia and develop an in-depth knowledge of clients' objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies.

This position can be based out of one of our British Columbia offices located in Victoria, Burnaby, Kamloops, Langley, or working remotely from within British Columbia.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Grow the transportation engineering and management business practice within the transportation group business throughout British Columbia.
  • Oversees the establishment of the Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan Documents.
  • Act as the company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution.
  • Supervise the work of transportation engineers and design technicians on various-sized transportation projects.
  • Provide technical excellence and oversee the preparation of high-quality highway design engineering deliverables, serving as Engineer of Record and/or Coordinating Professional on various-sized projects.
  • Provide project management for transportation and multi-disciplinary transportation projects for our clients, specifically BC Ministry of Transportation, on large-scale projects to meet the project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Oversee and/or prepare contract documents, cost estimates, reports, and proposals.
  • Provide direction and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers and design technicians.
  • Staff recruitment to fulfill resourcing needs and workload planning for the British Columbia transportation team.
  • Actively participates in and promote the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical/business field.
  • 15+ years of related engineering design and leadership experience.
  • Professional Engineer registration with active membership and in good standing with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
  • British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Transit (BC MoTT) project experience is desirable.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
  • A combination of Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build experience is ideal.
  • Requires the ability to manage projects, interface with clients and enjoy working technically hands-on while leading the Engineers on Parson's projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.

Salary Range:

$121,900 - $226,500

Salary Range: $125,800 - $233,800
