Job Description:
Parsons is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior HSE Manager - Data centres to join our team for a major hyperscale data centre project. This role will focus on providing leadership and oversight of all health, safety, and environmental aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with client, company, and regulatory requirements.
The Senior HSE Manager will develop and implement HSE strategies, manage risk, and work closely with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain a safe and compliant project environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
Plan, direct, supervise, and control all HSE functions across the project, including development and implementation of the Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan.
Establish program requirements for HSE compliance and monitor deliverables for adherence to criteria.
Assign responsibilities for HSE execution to team members based on qualifications and strengths.
Review and negotiate changes to HSE scope with clients and subcontractors, and provide input on project change orders related to safety.
Mobilize company resources and coordinate with support departments to create project teams capable of maintaining safety and quality standards.
Collaborate with project engineers, discipline leads, and office staff to ensure HSE requirements are integrated with project budgets, schedules, and execution plans.
Develop and monitor action plans to address potential safety risks, delays, or scope changes.
Monitor and report on HSE performance, including significant milestones, incidents, and regulatory compliance.
Act as the company’s representative for HSE matters with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
Establish regular HSE meetings to review project status, incidents, and corrective actions.
Promote a culture of technical and commercial excellence through application of HSE and Quality Assurance processes.
Perform other responsibilities associated with HSE management as required.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Safety, or related technical/business field.
15+ years of relevant work experience with prior project management experience on large-scale infrastructure or hyperscale data centre projects.
Proven ability to lead and manage HSE functions on complex, multi-package projects.
Strong knowledge of industry practices, safety regulations, and construction-related HSE standards.
Familiarity with integrating engineering, procurement, and construction activities with HSE requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to report effectively to all levels of the project team.
Ability to assess risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure regulatory and contractual compliance.
Professional registration or HSE certifications may be required.
