Job Description:

Senior Environmental Specialist

Dubai, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Environmental Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to contribute mainly to the environmental strategies for the delivery of challenging high-quality infrastructure and masterplan projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Be part of complex project teams which require environmental compliance and sustainability evaluation, from conception to project completion.

• Manage multiple multidisciplinary projects that require environmental input based on the EIA/ESIA studies developed.

• Understand the findings of the constraints and provide guidance and advice on potential issues that should be considered by the design teams at the early stages of the masterplan.

• Have a good knowledge on protected areas and be confident ro advice on design limitations based on habitat mapping information.

• Lead the environmental planning of any development activities based on the understanding of the environmentally sensitive areas.

• Develop environmental strategies tailored for each project’s aspirations and requirements.

• Guide project teams during planning, design development, tendering and construction supervision to enable achievement of projects environmental and sustainability goals.

• Develop technical reports and studies for sustainability certification and environmental documentation as part of project deliverables.

• Prepare RFPs to appoint the most suitable environmental sub-consultants for any given project.

• Assess and manage the appointed sub-consultants and review their EIA/ESIA studies and finidngs and review their deliverables for accuracy and quality.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in environmental engineering, environmental planning or related environmental / natural sciences field.

• Work experience of minimum 8 years in an international engineering design / project management / environmental sustainability Consultancy working on and delivering EIAs.

• Knowledgable on the latest updates on the environmental and sustainability field and finding ways to impelement them synergistically.

• Experience in coordinating with diverse individuals and teams including client, consultant, contractor, design, and construction members to enable achievement of project environmental and sustainability objectives and targets.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Chartered with a relevant institute and/or be a Registered EIA Practitioner with IEMA (preferable not mandatory).

• Analytical skills for assessing suitable sub-consultants.

• Detail oriented, well-organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team, on multiple large-scale projects in parallel.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English.
