Job Description:

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead and manage the EIA process for infrastructure projects, including scoping, impact identification, assessment, and mitigation planning.

  • Identify and evaluate potential environmental risks and impacts associated with project activities.

  • Develop and implement effective mitigation measures to minimize environmental harm.

  • Ensure projects comply with all applicable local environmental laws, regulations, and permits.

  • Prepare and submit high-quality environmental reports, permit applications, and other documentation to clients.

  • Liaise with regulatory agencies and stakeholders on environmental matters, representing the company and project in a professional manner.

  • Collaborate with design engineers and other disciplines to integrate environmental considerations into all phases of project planning and design.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to the project team on environmental best practices and sustainable design principles.

  • Develop and manage environmental aspects of the project budget and schedule.

  • Oversee and mentor junior environmental engineers, providing guidance and support for their professional development.

  • Coordinate with other project team members to ensure the timely and efficient completion of environmental tasks.

  • Conduct site assessments, environmental monitoring programs, and data analysis to track project performance and identify potential issues.

  • Design and implement pollution control and remediation strategies, as needed.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering.

  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Must have Qatar MM-UPDA registration or eligibility for registration.

  • Proven expertise in environmental impact assessment, mitigation, and monitoring.

  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and apply technical data.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

  • Proven ability to prepare clear and concise technical reports, presentations, and environmental documentation.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.

  • Excellent project management skills, including budget and schedule control.

  • Strong decision-making abilities and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Arabic-speaker is highly desirable.

  • Master’s degree in environmental engineering.

  • Experience in design of water and wastewater treatment systems.

  • Experience with groundwater/hydrological assessments.

  • Proficiency in air quality dispersion and Noise modeling.

  • Experience with specific types of infrastructure projects (e.g., transportation, energy, water resources).

  • Familiarity with GIS software.
