Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Discipline Engineer (Roads and Transportation) to join our team! The Senior Discipline Engineer (Roads and Transportation) is responsible for leading and managing the preparation of the pre-tender stage of the design, development, and implementation of road and strategic transportation projects for a major infrastructure hospitality program. This role involves providing technical expertise, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering high-quality solutions that meet client and project requirements. The engineer will also coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and oversee project execution from concept to completion.
What You'll Be Doing:
Project Management:
Lead the planning, design, and execution of road and transportation projects.
Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Technical Expertise:
Provide technical leadership in the design of roads, highways, intersections, and transportation systems.
Conduct feasibility studies, traffic analysis, and pavement design.
Ensure designs comply with local and international standards, codes, and regulations.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Collaborate with clients, government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and design documentation.
Address client feedback and ensure alignment with project goals.
Team Leadership:
Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct quality control reviews of designs and deliverables.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with project execution.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Software and Tools:
Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar tools for design and modeling.
Analyze traffic flow using software like SYNCHRO, VISSIM, or HCS.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience: 15+ years of experience in roads, highways, and transportation engineering, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
Licenses/Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in roadway design, traffic engineering, and transportation planning.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of sustainable transportation practices and smart mobility solutions.
Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for transportation planning.
Experience working on international projects or with multidisciplinary teams.
