Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Discipline Engineer (Roads and Transportation)​ to join our team! The Senior Discipline Engineer (Roads and Transportation) is responsible for leading and managing the preparation of the pre-tender stage of the design, development, and implementation of road and strategic transportation projects for a major infrastructure hospitality program. This role involves providing technical expertise, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering high-quality solutions that meet client and project requirements. The engineer will also coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and oversee project execution from concept to completion.

What You'll Be Doing:

Project Management:

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of road and transportation projects.

• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Technical Expertise:

• Provide technical leadership in the design of roads, highways, intersections, and transportation systems.

• Conduct feasibility studies, traffic analysis, and pavement design.

• Ensure designs comply with local and international standards, codes, and regulations.

Stakeholder Coordination:

• Collaborate with clients, government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders.

• Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and design documentation.

• Address client feedback and ensure alignment with project goals.

Team Leadership:

• Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications.

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Quality Assurance:

• Conduct quality control reviews of designs and deliverables.

• Identify and mitigate risks associated with project execution.

• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.

Software and Tools:

• Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar tools for design and modeling.

• Analyze traffic flow using software like SYNCHRO, VISSIM, or HCS.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

• Experience: 15+ years of experience in roads, highways, and transportation engineering, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.

• Licenses/Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in roadway design, traffic engineering, and transportation planning.

• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of sustainable transportation practices and smart mobility solutions.

• Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for transportation planning.

• Experience working on international projects or with multidisciplinary teams.
