Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Depot Engineer to join our team!
The Senior Depot Engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, integration, and delivery of depot facilities and associated systems for a rail infra project. The role will oversee depot operational requirements, maintenance facility planning, systems integration, interface management, and operational readiness activities to support safe, reliable, and efficient railway operations. The role will support the project from concept and design through procurement support, testing, commissioning, and operational handover, ensuring full integration between depot infrastructure, rolling stock, railway systems, and operational interfaces.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead the planning, development, and integration of depot facilities and operational strategies across all project stages for an express railway system.
Develop depot operational requirements, maintenance philosophies, facility layouts, workflow strategies, and performance criteria to support express railway operations.
Ensure full integration between depot systems, rolling stock, signalling systems, traction power, SCADA, OCC systems, communications systems, and associated operational interfaces.
Coordinate integration between depot facilities, maintenance operations, stabling areas, workshops, control systems, and external operational interfaces where applicable.
Support development of depot operational concepts, maintenance strategies, emergency response procedures, and operational readiness plans.
Coordinate interface management activities between depot systems and multidisciplinary rail, civil, architectural, MEP, and operational stakeholders.
Support Systems Engineering activities including requirements management, interface management, verification, validation, and traceability related to depot systems and operational interfaces.
Support preparation and review of Design and Construct tender documentation including depot technical specifications, maintenance facility requirements, interface requirements, and operational criteria.
Develop and support testing and commissioning strategies including FAT, SAT, SIT, integrated testing, depot readiness testing, and trial operations activities.
Coordinate with designers, contractors, operators, stakeholders, and authorities to ensure alignment with operational, maintenance, and integration requirements.
Identify and manage technical, operational, maintenance, and integration risks associated with depot facilities and systems and implement mitigation measures.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, operational requirements, maintenance standards, safety standards, and international railway standards.
Provide technical leadership and support to the Project Manager and multidisciplinary teams throughout the delivery of large-scale rail and infrastructure projects.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Relevant Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Railway Engineering, or equivalent) from a recognized University.
Minimum 15 years of experience in the AECO industry or relevant field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in rail projects and/or rail operations in Dubai, the GCC, and/or internationally.
Professional certification or membership with a recognized engineering or railway institution is preferred
Extensive knowledge and demonstrable experience in depot planning, maintenance facilities, depot systems integration, and operational readiness for large-scale rail and infrastructure projects, including express railway systems.
Relevant expertise in depot operations, rolling stock maintenance facilities, railway systems integration, operational interfaces, and maintenance planning.
Strong understanding of integration between depot systems and railway systems including signalling, traction power, SCADA, OCC systems, rolling stock, communications, and workshop systems.
Experience coordinating with external systems, operational interfaces, and airport-related interfaces where applicable is highly desirable.
Proven experience managing technical and operational scope of depot facilities and systems within mega rail or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles including requirements management, interface management, verification, and validation processes.
Familiarity with international railway depot standards, maintenance best practices, and operational readiness requirements.
