Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be part of a flagship mega-infrastructure project, shaping the future of a rapidly transforming region.
You will provide advanced professional engineering capabilities, leading the design review, technical supervision, and delivery of extensive electrical infrastructure systems. This includes high, medium, and low voltage distribution networks, substations, smart grid systems, and large-scale public lighting. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of international and Saudi Arabian engineering standards, paired with a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects under challenging desert conditions.
What You'll Be Doing
Technical Leadership: Direct and oversee the planning, design, and execution of comprehensive electrical infrastructure networks, ensuring all deliverables meet rigid technical requirements, budgets, and schedules.
Design Review & Assurance: Critically review complex electrical design packages, calculations (including load flows, short circuits, and cable sizing), drawings, and specifications submitted by consultants and contractors.
Site Supervision & Quality Control: Provide expert technical oversight during construction, testing, and commissioning phases. Ensure strict compliance with project specifications, approved shop drawings, and quality standards.
Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as a primary technical liaison between clients, project management teams, contractors, and local Saudi utility authorities (such as SEC and National Grid SA) to secure necessary approvals and grid connections.
Value Engineering: Identify and implement innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective electrical engineering solutions, optimizing power distribution efficiency and integrating smart-city technologies where applicable.
Risk Management & Safety: Proactively identify technical risks, constructability issues, and safety hazards, implementing robust mitigation strategies in line with Parsons’ world-class health and safety culture.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and technical mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers within the infrastructure team.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited, recognized university.
Experience: Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with a heavy focus on large-scale infrastructure projects (such as master-planned cities, highways, utilities, or massive mixed-use developments).
Regional Expertise: Proven track record working on major infrastructure projects within the (KSA) is essential. Familiarity with the unique geographic and climatic conditions of the Tabuk region is a distinct advantage.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, CYME, or Dialux) and familiarity with BIM/Revit workflows for infrastructure.
Extensive experience in MV/LV distribution networks, substation design (up to 110kV/132kV preferred), and corridor coordination with wet utilities and dry infrastructure.
Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills in English (Arabic fluency is a plus). Proven ability to manage diverse, multi-disciplinary engineering teams and external contractors.
Professional Membership: Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) as a Consultant or Senior Engineer is required.
