Senior Cost Engineer

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. This role involves managing costs within a secondment role with one of our key clients. The Senior Cost Engineer must be experienced in all aspects of cost management. Travel to the client's offices, project sites, or Parsons' Abu Dhabi head office may be required throughout the assignment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Exercise a qualified level of cost management, including cost planning, controlling, and reporting.
• Create and maintain reports to accurately reflect current budgets, invoices, committed costs, projected-to-go or cost-to-complete estimates, budget variances, cash flow projections, and schedule of values for individual projects.
• Provide trending information to assist in forecasting potential cost and time issues.
• Manage work breakdown structures and revisions.
• Coordinate conceptual estimates for various design and construction projects to provide program budgets.
• Develop and maintain an automated program cost database.
• Provide an annual fiscal budget and past period cost performance report.
• Provide a monthly consolidated program cost performance report.
• Demonstrate proven construction experience in estimating, bidding, job cost preparation, and an understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, and general construction management principles.
• Preferred experience in change order review and negotiations.
• Perform tasks as required by the manager and client on an as-needed basis.

• Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and proficiency with standard software packages typically associated with contract administration.
• Capability to independently manage cost matters.
• Proven ability to manage and direct work involving complex situations.
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken).

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar field.
• 10+ years of experience in the industry from a cost or estimation background, with experience in large international engineering and construction firms handling infrastructure and residential projects.
• 5 years of experience in the UAE.
• Experience with ports is advantageous.
• Chartered status by a recognized international body, such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), is advantageous.
