Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Intelligence Analyst who will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying advanced analytics solutions across our organization. This professional will collect, analyze, and transform data from multiple sources to create meaningful insights that support program management, operational decision-making, and strategic initiatives. They will excel at researching, interpreting, and presenting data, and will develop dashboards, applications, and automated workflows that deliver clear value to our internal and external partners.
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is an advanced problem solver with strong capabilities in data modeling, Power Platform development, and business intelligence. This role requires the ability to understand complex challenges, translate business needs into technical requirements, and produce intuitive, high-quality analytics products. The analyst will implement analytical tools, modernize reporting processes, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and leverage creative techniques to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
This position also plays a key part in elevating team capabilities by promoting best practices, supporting the adoption of advanced technologies, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our analytics ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy advanced analytics solutions—including dashboards, data models, applications, and automated workflows—using Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and related Microsoft technologies.
- Collect, prepare, and integrate data from multiple internal and external sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to organizational data standards.
- Streamline and automate data collection and transformation processes, creating repeatable and efficient routines for ongoing reporting and analytics needs.
- Interpret data trends, patterns, and performance indicators to support program management, operational decision-making, and strategic planning across the organization.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, and technical partners to evaluate challenges, gather requirements, recommend strategies, and deliver tailored analytics solutions.
- Document business requirements, system logic, data flows, development steps, and deployment procedures to ensure clarity, maintainability, and continuity across the analytics lifecycle.
- Conduct data validation and quality assurance activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational and client expectations.
- Provide technical support and user assistance for dashboards, applications, and automated workflows, including troubleshooting issues and guiding users through new capabilities.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of analytics standards, best practices, and governance approaches, helping strengthen the quality and consistency of solutions across the team.
- Engage in collaborative problem solving across multidisciplinary groups, working with engineers, program managers, and technical specialists to identify opportunities for improved insights and data-driven outcomes.
- Participate in project planning and coordination, supporting the execution of analytics tasks, timelines, and deliverables within broader project or program efforts.
- Help mentor junior team members informally, sharing expertise and offering technical guidance to elevate the overall capability of the analytics team.
Typical Assignments:
- Collect, integrate, and prepare data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and readiness for reporting and analytics.
- Develop and maintain Power BI datasets, data models, and dashboards, applying strong data modeling and visualization practices.
- Build and enhance Power Apps and Power Automate solutions to support workflow efficiency, data entry, and process automation.
- Transform raw data into structured, meaningful formats, applying business rules, validation steps, and quality checks.
- Analyze data to identify trends and performance insights, presenting findings in a clear and actionable manner.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand needs and determine areas where analytics can drive improvements.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and visual presentations summarizing project tasks, methods, and analytical results.
- Support testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of dashboards, applications, and automated workflows to ensure long-term reliability and usability.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field is preferred.
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience developing analytics solutions using Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
- Strong background in data structures, data modeling, relational concepts, and data transformation techniques.
- Proficiency with SQL, Power Query, and other tools used for data preparation and integration.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing complex datasets and presenting insights in clear, compelling formats.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements, ensuring solutions align with stakeholder goals and constraints.
- Familiarity with scripting or analytics languages (e.g., Python, R) is preferred but not required.
- Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and supporting project- or program-focused analytics needs.
- Prior experience mentoring junior staff or contributing to analytics best practices is a plus.
