Resident Engineer (Infrastructure & Lighting)
Abu Dhabi, UAE
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Resident Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to plan, schedule, supervise, and exercise administrative authority over all field of engineering work.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Serve as the Engineer of Record, fulfilling all delegated duties and responsibilities on behalf of the Employer throughout the construction phase.
- Maintain direct communication with the Contractor and supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
- Issue directives to the Contractor to rectify non-compliant work, materials, or equipment.
- Supervise and support the construction supervision team, including site engineers, inspectors, and surveyors, across roadworks and associated infrastructure.
- Advise the Employer on contract variations, financial matters, claims, and contractor payments.
- Provide guidance on technical, contractual, and construction issues related to roadworks, utilities, traffic diversions, and road furniture.
- Maintain detailed and accurate site records, including daily diaries and progress reports.
- Review and approve shop drawings, design submissions, material approvals, and method statements.
- Coordinate with Parsons’ design team to resolve technical issues, and manage resources in collaboration with the Contractor.
- Liaise with the Client/PMC, Contractor, and relevant authorities to ensure smooth progress of the works.
- Oversee project safety measures, ensuring adherence to HSE requirements, and report any incidents or near misses.
- Chair regular site meetings, ensure effective communication and documentation, and contribute to overall contract administration.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BSc)
Minimum of 18 years of overall engineering experience, including at least 10 years in infrastructure and lighting projects.
Proven track record in supervising major road and infrastructure projects, ideally within the Gulf region.
Professional registration such as Chartered Engineer or PE is preferred.
Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance/Quality Control practices and statistical quality control.
Proficiency in construction-related software and tools; fully computer literate.
Knowledgeable in contract management and site procedures.
Registered as a practicing engineer in Abu Dhabi, or must hold an equivalency certificate.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with CAD and other engineering-related software.
- Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities in multi-disciplinary environments.
