Resident Engineer

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Resident Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will get to will oversee daily construction operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards, manage resources, coordinate with contractors, and ensure project success from start to finish.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Overseeing the daily operations and progress of construction projects to ensure successful execution.
- Managing and directing project teams, including Assistant Resident Engineers, Inspectors of Works, and Quantity Surveyors.
- Ensuring that all construction activities are completed safely, on time, and within budget while adhering to the quality standards.
- Coordinating and collaborating with contractors and other construction teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Reviewing and approving technical submittals, shop drawings, and other documentation.
- Managing Health & Safety and Environmental Protection standards during the construction and operation of deep underground structures and micro-tunneling works.
- Engaging with statutory bodies to acquire necessary consents and licenses for the project.
- Handling project-related issues, mitigating risks, and providing proactive solutions to problems that may arise during construction.
- Monitoring and managing technical and financial proposals, as well as evaluating constructability and deployment of technology on-site.
- Ensuring effective communication among the project team and external stakeholders.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university with professional qualifications from a recognized international institution, approved by the Engineer.
- Membership in an accredited Project Management Institution would be advantageous.
- Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years post-graduate experience, with at least 10 years in a managerial or technical lead role in large-scale sewerage and/or surface & ground water micro-tunneling projects.
- Demonstrated experience in handling technical and financial proposals, evaluating constructability, technology deployment, and solving technical challenges during construction.
- Experience in managing Health & Safety and Environmental Protection aspects of deep underground structures and similar large-scale projects.
- Proven experience in managing Design & Build projects involving micro-tunneling sewerage and/or surface & ground water networks in urban environments.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with other construction projects in the vicinity and consult with statutory bodies for acquiring consents and licenses.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with excellent technical writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
- Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate a team of engineers and technical staff.
- Proactive problem-solving ability and capacity to manage work across multiple areas on-site.
- Computer skills are mandatory, with proficiency in relevant software tools for project management and construction tasks.
- MME certified.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Strong understanding of project risk management, with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Experience with advanced construction technology such as BIM (Building Information Modeling) or similar tools to improve project outcomes.
- Knowledge of local regulations and the ability to navigate city permitting processes.
- Ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate work across different project phases.
- Strong understanding of cost control, including managing project budgets and ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Experience working on fast-track projects and managing complex, high-pressure timelines.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements and provide innovative solutions in a timely manner.
