Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Reporting Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reporting solutions and systems within an organization. They collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, gather data, and create visually appealing and actionable reports. The Reporting Engineer plays a crucial role in data analysis, report automation, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of reporting processes.

Reporting Solution Design:
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and requirements.
Design reporting solutions that meet the identified objectives and align with organizational goals.
Determine the appropriate reporting tools, technologies, and data sources to be used.
Define data models and structures to support effective reporting and analysis.

Data Gathering and Analysis:
Identify and gather data from various sources, including databases, data warehouses, and APIs.
Perform data cleansing, transformation, and aggregation to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Develop data analysis techniques to enhance reporting capabilities.
Report Development and Automation:
Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards using reporting tools and software.
Ensure that reports are visually appealing, easy to understand, and provide actionable insights.
Automate report generation processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Customize reports to meet the specific needs of different stakeholders.
Data Visualization and Presentation:
Create visually compelling and interactive reports using data visualization tools.
Select appropriate chart types, graphs, and visual elements to effectively communicate data.
Present reports to stakeholders, explaining findings and providing recommendations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine report layouts, formats, and content.
Data Governance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure data integrity and accuracy by implementing data governance practices.
Develop and enforce data quality standards and validation processes.
Perform regular audits and checks to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
Collaborate with data management teams to maintain data consistency and reliability.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
Work closely with business users, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders in utilizing reporting tools and systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate reporting solutions into business processes.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, addressing questions and concerns related to reports.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
Stay updated on emerging reporting technologies, tools, and trends.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in reporting workflows.
Conduct research and experimentation to enhance reporting capabilities.
Participate in training and professional development activities to expand knowledge and skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience) and typically 3+ years of related work experience.
