  • Adjacent finishes

  • Structural loads

  • Environmental conditions (interior vs. exterior)

  • Maintenance and lifecycle requirements

  • Ensure design packages correctly reflect marble specifications, patterns, cut layouts, edge profiles, and installation methods.

  • Review marble sample boards and prototype layouts before construction-stage mock-ups.

  • Set the quality benchmark that must be achieved during installation.

Risk Assessment & Value Engineering

  • Identify early risks related to marble availability, color variability, supply chain constraints, or technical performance issues.

  • Recommend VE alternatives where beneficial, without compromising visual quality or luxury standards.

  • Provide risk mitigation strategies and design recommendations to the PMC and client.

  • Validate that cutting lists, patterns, and installation details are clearly defined in design documentation.

  • Review and sign off on final design-stage marble packages for incorporation into IFC documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field.

  • Minimum 12–15 years of experience, with at least 6 years specializing in marble and natural stone for ultra-luxury hospitality or high-end mixed-use projects.

  • Strong background in stone sourcing, stone performance testing, and international marble standards.

  • Proven experience in a PMC or design management environment.

  • Deep understanding of stone patterning, book-matching, vein-matching, cut optimization, and finish selection.

  • Familiarity with Saudi Building Codes and PIF materials compliance requirements.

  • High technical competency in reviewing marble shop drawings, stone layouts, and specifications.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and technical writing skills.

  • Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Preferred Competencies

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a refined understanding of luxury aesthetics.

  • Strong ability to guide designers and resolve marble-related technical issues.

  • Proactive approach to design risks, material selection challenges, and supply limitations.

  • Ability to manage multiple design packages and maintain strict documentation control.

  • Experience with digital tools for material tracking, QA workflows, and design coordination (e.g., Aconex, Autodesk).
