Parsons is looking for an experienced and talented Project Manager – Design & Design Coordination to join our team. In this role, you will lead and manage multidisciplinary design activities for building and infrastructure projects, from design development through construction, ensuring effective coordination between design teams, contractors, consultants, clients, and other project stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and manage the delivery of multidisciplinary design and design coordination activities for building and infrastructure projects.
  • Manage projects through various design stages, including concept, schematic, detailed design, tender, and construction support.
  • Develop and maintain project execution plans, design schedules, deliverable registers, and key project milestones.
  • Coordinate between Civil, Architectural, Structural, MEP, Landscape, Utilities, Roads, and other relevant disciplines to ensure fully coordinated design solutions.
  • Lead design coordination meetings, technical workshops, and design reviews with internal teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Manage design interfaces and ensure that conflicts between disciplines are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitor design progress against approved schedules and identify potential delays, risks, and interface issues.
  • Review design submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate design activities during construction, including review of contractor technical submissions, shop drawings, material submissions, RFIs, design changes, and technical queries.
  • Coordinate with construction teams to resolve site-related design issues and provide timely technical solutions.
  • Ensure that design changes during construction are properly reviewed, coordinated, documented, and implemented.
  • Support constructability reviews and ensure that design solutions consider construction methodology, sequencing, accessibility, maintainability, and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with authorities and stakeholders to facilitate required technical approvals, permits, and NOCs.
  • Manage project risks related to design, interfaces, approvals, and technical delivery and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
  • Establish and monitor project KPIs covering schedule, quality, design delivery, technical approvals, and overall project performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Parsons' quality management procedures and applicable project quality requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with the client and provide regular progress updates, presentations, and reports.
  • Review project contracts and scope requirements to ensure all design and technical obligations are identified and delivered.
  • Manage scope changes and support the preparation and evaluation of variations and change requests.
  • Coordinate with Project Controls and Commercial teams regarding progress, budgets, forecasts, invoicing, and project performance.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams, assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and ensure effective collaboration across the project.
  • Support resource planning and ensure appropriate technical resources are available to meet project requirements and schedules.
  • Promote effective collaboration between the design and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.

What Required Skills You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 20 years of relevant professional experience, with significant experience in project management, design management, and multidisciplinary design coordination.
  • Demonstrable experience in the delivery of large-scale building and/or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and coordinating between architectural, civil, structural, MEP, infrastructure, and other technical disciplines.
  • Experience providing design coordination and technical support during construction, including resolution of RFIs, design changes, technical queries, and site-related design issues.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Qatar and/or the GCC region is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of design processes, construction methodologies, applicable codes, standards, and authority requirements.
  • Ability to interpret complex contracts, specifications, drawings, design reports, and other technical documentation.
  • Strong project management, leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage design schedules, priorities, resources, risks, and project deliverables.
  • Strong client management and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with relevant project/design management platforms.
  • MME/MMUP/UPDA registration is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, CEng, RIBA, or equivalent are preferred.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

  • Extensive experience in design management and multidisciplinary coordination of major building and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of both design delivery and construction-stage design coordination, with the ability to bridge the interface between designers, contractors, supervision teams, and clients.
  • Experience managing complex interfaces between architectural, structural, civil, MEP, utilities, roads, landscape, and other project disciplines.
  • Strong technical understanding combined with proven project management and leadership capabilities.
  • Experience working with major international consultants, contractors, developers, or government clients.
  • Ability to identify technical and coordination risks early and drive practical solutions that support project schedule, quality, cost, and constructability.
  • Experience with BIM-based multidisciplinary coordination and digital design review processes would be an advantage.
  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to manage expectations, communicate technical matters clearly, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
