Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Engineer - Runways to join our team! In this role you will oversee and manage the engineering and operational aspects of design and construction works in Airfield Aprons, Taxiways and Runways. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assists the Senior Project Engineer with managing the engineering aspects of airfield development and rehabilitation projects from inception to completion.
  • Assists the Senior Project Engineer with developing project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Coordinates and provides technical support among supervision consultant, contractors, airport personnel, design personnel, and others.  
    Provides technical expertise and guidance on all engineering matters related to airfield design and construction.
  • Reviews and recommends for approval engineering designs, drawings, specifications, reports, submittals, etc.
  • Ensures that all engineering work complies with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Oversees construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Conducts regular site inspections and audits to monitor progress and identify any issues or deviations.
  • Works closely with contractors to resolve any technical or construction-related challenges.
  • Conducts regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Conducts regular quality audits and inspections to verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Assists the Senior Project Engineer with implementing and maintaining quality assurance and control processes to ensure high standards of workmanship.
  • Ensures all construction work complies with relevant specifications and plans, regulations and standards, and best practices, coordinating the resolution of construction issues. 
  • Participates in procurement/ tender evaluations. 
  • Assists the Senior Project Engineer in the development and preparation of project and construction procedures, strategies, schedules, risk identification, and project reporting.
  • Undertakes interface/ coordination related to civil and building and structural works;

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  •  A bachelor or higher degree in civil engineering or equivalent from a recognized university is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant technical experience of significant large-scale projects.  
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience must be in responsible project management roles, particularly in airfield projects.
  • Demonstrated understanding of airfield pavement design techniques, including principles and application of ICAO/ FAA construction standards and methods is required.
  • Understanding of design, materials specification, and construction techniques of airfield pavements, lighting, NAVAIDs, and other industry technologies and practices.
  • Capable of adapting to demanding project conditions, including geological considerations.
  • Ability to apply plans and specifications to a project, adapt to field conditions and react objectively and expeditiously to critical and emergency construction engineering problems.
  • Ability to present issues to management in written or oral reports, offering recommendations or corrective actions to the best interests of the client.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills. Computer literate.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Professional Engineering license and PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Design and NOC (No Objection Certificate) process in the GCC/KSA preferred.
  • GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) experience preferred, KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) ideal.
