Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Engineer (MEP) - Theme Park and Entertainment to join our team in Qatar!
In this role, you will be part of the Project Management Consultant (PMC) team and support the delivery of a landmark luxury hospitality and entertainment development featuring immersive entertainment experiences, world-class hospitality, premium retail, and diverse leisure attractions.
You will provide technical oversight and multidisciplinary coordination for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire and life safety, and specialist building systems throughout design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, and handover. You will support the integration of conventional building services with architectural, structural, civil, utility, and themed entertainment systems to achieve technically compliant, maintainable, operationally efficient, and fully coordinated solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide technical engineering support for the delivery of the Project Management Consultancy services throughout all project phases.
- Review and coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire and life safety, and specialist building systems to ensure technical consistency, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Support the coordination and integration of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, electrical distribution, fire protection, ELV systems, building management systems, utility networks, and other building services.
- Coordinate MEP engineering interfaces between the Lead Design Consultant, Architect of Record, Design & Build Contractor, Supervision Consultant, specialist designers, attraction vendors, operators, and utility providers.
- Review engineering reports, technical calculations, design submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical queries related to MEP systems.
- Support constructability reviews and technical evaluations to identify engineering risks, interface conflicts, and opportunities for design optimization and value engineering.
- Monitor engineering progress and support the timely resolution of technical issues that may affect project cost, schedule, quality, procurement, or construction activities.
- Coordinate MEP engineering support during procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, and handover to facilitate the successful installation, integration, and operation of building services.
- Support multidisciplinary coordination for building services, utility capacity, energy systems, life safety systems, environmental systems, and specialist operational infrastructure.
- Provide technical oversight for themed entertainment systems, including ride-support utilities, show HVAC, show-power interfaces, water-ride treatment and filtration systems, life-support systems, specialty pumping systems, attraction utility infrastructure, and other guest-experience-related engineering systems.
- Assist in reviewing engineering-related RFIs, design clarifications, variations, and technical change requests, including their potential impact on the Project.
- Coordinate with the BIM team to support multidisciplinary model coordination, clash detection, and engineering integration.
- Participate in engineering design reviews, integrated systems coordination workshops, Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, and testing and commissioning readiness reviews.
- Support the review of as-built documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, commissioning records, asset information, and engineering handover documentation.
- Maintain engineering coordination registers, technical review records, action trackers, and related documentation within the Electronic Document Management System.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent professional registration is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP engineering design, technical coordination, or Project Management Consultancy for major hospitality, entertainment, mixed-use, or destination developments.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary MEP systems on large-scale Design & Build projects.
- Proven experience supporting themed entertainment developments, integrated resorts, luxury hospitality developments, or complex mixed-use destinations is highly desirable.
- Strong experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, fire and life safety systems, ELV systems, building management systems, utility infrastructure, and integrated building services.
- Experience coordinating specialist entertainment systems such as ride-support utilities, show systems, water attractions, or other complex operational infrastructure is highly desirable.
- Experience working on Design & Build projects through design, construction, testing and commissioning, and handover.
- Strong understanding of applicable international engineering codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- GCC experience is highly desirable.

- Strong understanding of themed entertainment engineering systems, including ride-support utilities, show HVAC, show-power interfaces, water-ride treatment and filtration systems, life-support systems, specialty pumping systems, and integrated attraction infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of testing and commissioning processes, integrated systems testing, operational readiness, engineering handover, and asset integration.
- Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering stakeholders, including Lead Design Consultants, Architects of Record, Supervision Consultants, contractors, specialist vendors, operators, utility providers, and statutory authorities.
- Ability to review and interpret engineering reports, technical calculations, construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and commissioning documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify engineering risks, interface conflicts, and practical technical solutions.
- Excellent communication, coordination, presentation, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
- Proficiency in engineering coordination tools, BIM workflows, and Electronic Document Management Systems.
- Ability to function effectively within large multidisciplinary programme environments while maintaining focus on engineering quality, technical integration, operational performance, and successful project delivery.
