Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Coordinator / Office Engineer to join our team!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Update data in the Procore system through direct input of contract-related information or uploading other data files;
  • Assist with preparation of project status reports to identify progress and monitor the project schedule, budget, and staffing plan;
  • Assist in the development of the quality control processes where needed in collaboration with the project team;
  • Represent Task Manager and/or the Program Manager at meetings as assigned;
  • Maintain the contract files and project logs that include contractor-client correspondence, contractor invoices and progress payments;
  • Coordinate contract changes and claims, time sheets and overtime, and cost estimates for changes to contract work;
  • Monitor and maintain contract logs with distribution of documents between the contractor and staff for compliance with contract time commitments;
  • Coordinate the collection of daily inspection reports from field inspectors and record lost time for contractors, reconciling the lost time with reports from the contractors;
  • Coordinate progress meetings with the contractor and technical consultants, prepare meeting agendas, record meeting minutes, and follow up on action items;
  • Coordinate review of invoices and progress payments, prepare the payment packages for authorization for payment, and monitor compliance with Davis-Bacon wage rates;
  • Provide administrative, secretarial, and clerical support for a project office;
  • Perform varied administrative office functions, maintains contract records, plans and specifications, and related engineering and administrative records;
  • Work under direction of the Program Manager, who reviews work on the basis of daily informal contacts, reports, and conferences.

Background and Experience:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or in a related field and 12+ years related engineering experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years with direct experience in quality control and/or construction safety; a minimum of one (1) year out of the three (3) years shall be in the transportation industry or large-scale construction sector;
  • Demonstrated QA/QC experience on rail transit projects;
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong technical writing skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Procore.
  • Knowledge, or ability to rapidly acquire the knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures;
  • Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, arithmetic, and general office practices and procedures;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in performing duties;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals with whom interface is required;
  • Ability to maintain complex files.
