Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Controls Engineer to join our Team! In this role you will transform complex project, cost, schedule, and financial data into actionable business intelligence, enabling proactive decision-making and performance optimization across projects and portfolios.
What You'll Be Doing:
Combine traditional Project Controls expertise with modern data analytics capabilities to develop insightful dashboards, automate reporting processes, identify trends and risks, and drive data-backed business decisions.
Project Controls & Analytics
- Lead project cost control, forecasting, budgeting, accruals, invoicing, and performance reporting activities.
- Develop robust project forecasts, variance analyses, and early warning indicators to proactively identify cost and schedule risks.
- Analyze project financial performance, profitability, backlog, resource utilization, revenue recognition, and earned value metrics.
- Support project managers and leadership teams with data-driven recommendations and strategic insights.
Power BI & Business Intelligence
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and executive reporting solutions.
- Create interactive visualizations, KPI scorecards, drill-through reports, and portfolio performance dashboards.
- Develop DAX measures, calculation groups, field parameters, and data models to support sophisticated reporting requirements.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and user-friendly BI solutions
Planning and Scheduling
- Develop and maintain project schedules, critical path analyses, and performance tracking models.
- Analyze schedule performance using SPI, CPI, Earned Value, productivity metrics, and trend forecasting.
- Assess schedule impacts, scenario modeling, risk analysis, and recovery strategies.
- Develop schedule health reports and predictive analytics to improve project outcomes.
Earned Value
- Implements and maintains an Earned Value Management System on the project.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
8+ years of related work experience.
Highly analytical and data-driven with an engineering background and advanced expertise in Power BI, SQL, Excel, and data analytics.
Proficient PC skills including a working knowledge of various Project Controls software, Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of Power BI.
Must have good knowledge in using Project Management software tools, scheduling software, and cost management software.
Experience in facilitating and administering multidiscipline meetings with large groups of stakeholders.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Understanding of the importance of timely reporting and the energy to deliver against demanding deadlines.
The ability to build strong relationships and support colleagues
