Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Landscape Architect to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for the technical excellence of the tasks and analyses performed, regulatory compliance, and for on-schedule completion of landscape projects within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations.
What You'll Be Doing:
Responsible for delivering technical and aesthetic design quality and value to clients, within allocated hours and associated costs.
Identifying scope creep as potential variation orders, and otherwise be responsible for the technical delivery of the projects in tandem with the Project Managers.
Determines aesthetic design and practical technical solutions for the planning of external spaces including hardscapes, softscapes, streetscapes etc.
Project types may include urban space planning, commercial buildings and spaces, residential projects, industrial sites, public open spaces and parks, resorts, hotels and leisure facilities etc.
Proficiency in providing complex technical solutions and preparing full technical packages from Concept Design, through Design Development, Final Design to Tender and Construction Contract Documentation in coordination with landscape team members and internal and external allied technical disciplines.
Reviews CAD drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, and color boards prepared by Architectural Designers. Ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Performs a variety of assignments such as conducting landscape architectural studies, developing design concepts and design criteria, and preparing related reports.
Preparation, design and presentation of high-quality landscape concept drawings.
Prepares staffing estimates and execution plans.
Prepares material and equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; reviews supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities. Selects materials and writes construction specifications.
Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
Develop maintenance plans for completed sites.
Provides technical guidance to lower-level Landscape Architects and Designer/Drafters working on the same project and may provide input regarding their performance.
Working with lead landscape architects guiding and assisting them on their projects to ensure project plans and time lines, technical quality of the design and production for submissions
Coordination with other relevant disciplines such as Master Planners, Engineers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Architects.
Experience and/or willingness and adaptability to transition between BIM-based design process and delivery paradigm and 2D delivery.
Assist in the preparation of project proposals, providing technical writeup, resourcing assessment and scope development and costing.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture (or related field) from a recognized University/ Institution.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the landscape field showing increasing levels of responsibility.
Experience managing landscape groups / teams for established Architecture/Engineering firms or the client side.
Proficiency in the application of architectural public realm and landscape design standards, practices, techniques, and concepts.
Experience in Horticulture, softscape, landscape planting and irrigation design
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is must.
Experience managing multiple landscape design projects and multiple design teams
Experienced in client facing communication and management

Registered in Saudi Council of Engineer if working within KSA.
