Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Landscape Architect to join our team! In this role you will get to work on an exciting large scale master planned mixed use development in Saudi Arabia with opportunity to further your career

What You'll Be Doing:

  • The Lead Design Landscape Architect is ultimately responsible for the full operations of the landscape design team including: prioritization and delegation of design office duties and preparation of design solutions, development and production from concept to final design/tender packages and written, graphical and official presentation of all design works to the client.

  • Determines and is ultimately responsible for all aesthetic landscape design and practical technical solutions for the planning of external spaces including hardscapes, softscapes and streetscapes etc.

  • Works cover public realm, government authority and private sector building surrounds, palaces and mosque grounds, commercial building surrounds and spaces, residential projects, industrial sites, public open spaces, parks and gardens, sports and recreational areas and facilities, waterfronts, hotels, resorts and leisure facilities, etc.

  • Determines and is ultimately responsible for providing complex technical solutions and preparing full technical packages for external works from concept design through to design development, final design to tender and contract documentation in coordination with senior, mid-level and junior landscape team members. Is responsible for reviewing and approving construction/shop drawing packages including construction details for all built forms within the external works packages to be prepared by the contractor prior to as-built contract documentation.

  • Hardscape detailing includes the design and specification of all horizontal and vertical profiles, external finishes and surfaces, level changes, minor structures, walls and fencing, street and park furniture, play, sports and exercise equipment, drainage, water features, landscape lighting, surface utility finish coordination, etc.

  • Softscape detailing includes the design and specification of all plant materials, planting medium, preparation of the site, contours & grading, coordination with irrigation engineer for irrigation design and specification, and control of all horticultural practices for installation works.

  • The Lead Design Landscape Architect is responsible for advice on supervision of installation of the landscape contract works on site, and reports as required on particular site works, progress, changes, etc. The Lead Design Landscape Architect assists senior site staff in the administration of the contract to ensure the works are carried out to the contract specifications and programme.

  • Preparation of high quality presentation drawings.

  • Preparation of technical design packages through to tender and support the Procurement team on tender strategy, floating tender, evaluation and recommendation for aware.

  • Provide support and production assistance to senior team members.

  • Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of the architectural portions of a project. This involves the preparation/revie and approval of original designs, layouts, details, drawings and specifications.

  • Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements.

  • Coordinates architectural efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other divisional groups.

  • When delegated, assumes a lead role over other architectural personnel for specific tasks or project sub-groups.

  • Assists in on-the-job training of assigned personnel and provides input for their performance evaluation

  • Assist the Project Controls team on developing the Workflow process for design submissions and approvals.

  • Develop, review and approve and support the Project controls team on the design schedule/programmes

  • Prepare and implement Design KPIs for the project

  • Review, interview and approve proposed members of the various consultant's design teams.

  • Review and approve design submissions and stage gate payments

  • Prepare agendas for and Chair design kick-off and progress meetings and technical workshops

  • Lead value engineering exercises

  • Assist the Estimating team on Cost estimation and Budget preparation at the relevant design stage gates

  • Develop and maintain a Variation tracker and lead design change management process

  • Assists the Project Controls and Commercial team on review of Design Variations and EOT claims.

  • Implement design document number and naming convention and ensure proper submission, filing and document storage structure

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Engineering or Architectural Degree (or equivalent) and at least 15 Years of relevant experience

  • Experience in all aspects of Public Realm design, Hard and soft landscaping, Irrigation and Lighting design

  • Knowledge of latest materials, technology, trends and innovations in the Landscaping sphere

  • 5 years in KSA on a similar role

  • Experience in using Primavera P6
