Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems critical to the success of the project.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile infrastructure project, collaborating with a skilled team of engineers and contractors while ensuring mechanical systems meet project standards and regulatory requirements. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems for the ATCT airfield project, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Support the preparation of technical drawings, specifications, and calculations for mechanical systems.
- Work with senior engineers to ensure mechanical systems meet design standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure mechanical systems are integrated into the overall design of the airfield.
- Assist in monitoring the installation of mechanical systems, ensuring that they meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Participate in site inspections and assist with resolving on-site issues related to mechanical systems.
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with relevant industry standards, codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.), and local regulations.
- Assist in reviewing and updating mechanical system designs to meet evolving regulatory and project requirements.
- Prepare and submit reports on mechanical system performance and compliance.
- Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for mechanical systems, including drawings, specifications, and testing reports.
- Assist in preparing reports for stakeholders, providing updates on mechanical systems and project progress.
- Document all issues, challenges, and solutions related to mechanical system installation.
- Work closely with senior engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical support to project teams during the installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes by identifying areas of efficiency.
- Assist in conducting tests, inspections, and commissioning of mechanical systems to ensure they meet operational and safety standards.
- Help implement quality control procedures to ensure mechanical systems are installed and function as per design specifications.
- Identify potential issues early and support troubleshooting efforts to minimize delays.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of energy-efficient mechanical systems that meet sustainability goals for the project.
- Assist in evaluating and recommending mechanical technologies that enhance system performance and reduce energy consumption.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, ideally within airfield, infrastructure, or related projects.
- Practical experience with the design, installation, and testing of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, building systems, and relevant industry codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.).
- Proficiency in mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and basic engineering analysis tools.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Professional certification (e.g., EIT, LEED, or PMP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems in airport or airfield-related projects is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy-efficient systems.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) or advanced mechanical software.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
