Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Field Engineer Lead to join our team! In this role you will get to manage all field engineering operations, ensuring that construction projects are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to oversee complex field activities.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians to achieve project success.

What You'll be Doing;
- Lead and manage the field engineering team, ensuring the execution of engineering tasks on-site is done efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.
- Ensure that all field activities, including construction, installation, testing, and commissioning, meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for field engineers and other on-site personnel, providing direction, guidance, and support.
- Supervise the daily activities of the field engineering team, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure work is progressing according to schedule.
- Coordinate with project managers and other departments to provide updates on the project’s status and address any issues or changes.
- Monitor and ensure that work is performed according to the technical specifications, drawings, and safety regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and solutions to engineering challenges encountered in the field.
- Identify and resolve any issues related to construction, installation, or commissioning activities, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
- Perform site inspections and assessments, recommending corrective actions for any technical issues.
- Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure all work performed on-site meets the required quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and review reports, including progress reports, safety reports, and any issues or incidents encountered on-site.
- Lead, mentor, and provide support to field engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Conduct training and development sessions for field engineers to enhance their technical knowledge and skills.
- Monitor performance, provide feedback, and conduct regular performance reviews for team members.
- Oversee the allocation and management of field resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to ensure optimal utilization and efficiency.
- Ensure that field teams have the necessary tools, equipment, and resources to perform their work effectively.
- Work with procurement teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment required for the project.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, technical reports, and safety audits.
- Prepare detailed reports for senior management, outlining project status, challenges, and progress.
- Ensure that all changes to the project scope, design, or schedule are properly documented and communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all field operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Lead safety audits and risk assessments to proactively identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate any incidents or accidents on-site, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
- Communicate regularly with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders, providing updates on field activities, progress, and any concerns.
- Address any client or stakeholder concerns related to field operations and provide technical recommendations as needed.
- Ensure alignment between field activities and overall project objectives.
What Required Skills You'll Bring;
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in field engineering roles, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Proven experience managing and coordinating field activities for large-scale construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
- Experience working in a leadership role, managing teams of engineers and technicians.
- Strong technical knowledge in the relevant engineering discipline, with the ability to interpret and apply technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, Revit).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- In-depth understanding of safety regulations, quality assurance practices, and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address and resolve field issues effectively.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) or additional training in field engineering or project management.
- Experience with construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend).
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) or other advanced construction technologies.
- Knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices in construction projects.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
