What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collaborate and co-operate with the Resident and Assistant Resident Engineers to supervise the works so that they are performed in proper sequence and to the required quality as per the contract documents.

  • Attend and witness field and laboratory tests, including pressure testing, flushing, disinfection, water quality sampling and compaction testing.
  • Inspect delivered materials at site to confirm freedom from damage and compliance with contractual requirements before incorporation into the works.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of work to the Assistant Resident Engineers, and proactively communicate deviations and findings.
  • Maintain accurate daily field logs, inspection records, photographic records and site observations.
  • Raise inspection requests and site observations, and support the raising of non-conformance reports where required.
  • Monitor protection of existing utilities and assets during construction activities.
  • Maintain proper QA / QC and HSE conditions at site in line with the requirements of the Consultant’s and Contractor’s HSEQ plans.
  • Maintain a visible presence at the workplace, and actively participate in worksite HSE walkthroughs, inspections, safety interventions and audits at planned intervals.
  • Promote HSE reporting proactively and empower employees to express their concerns about unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
  • Support snagging, de-snagging and final inspections on completion of works.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Minimum Engineering Degree (BE or BSc) in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. The degree shall be certified by the Ministry of Higher Education.

  • Experience with trenching, excavation, shoring and backfilling processes.
  • Good knowledge of HSE requirements associated with safe work practices, including confined space, excavation, lifting and working at height.
