Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented HS&E Lead to join our team!

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Advise and support Project and Program Management teams in implementing and maintaining Safety, Health, and Environmental (SH&E) programs in accordance with corporate, regulatory, and client requirements.
  • Provide guidance to project personnel on compliance with Parsons’ Environmental, Safety, Health, and Risk Program (ESHARP) management system, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct audits of projects and worksites to verify compliance with corporate SH&E standards and industry best practices.
  • Perform site inspections to identify hazards and provide practical solutions to eliminate or mitigate associated risks.
  • Prepare and submit detailed audit reports, inspection reports, and recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Implement occupational injury reporting, incident management, and investigation processes in accordance with company requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations and conduct root cause analyses using recognized investigation methodologies.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams, supervisors, and workers to identify and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Prepare comprehensive investigation reports and communicate lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
  • Analyze trends related to audits, inspections, incidents, and safety observations, and develop reports to support management decision-making.
  • Represent Parsons during external regulatory inspections, client reviews, and loss control assessments.
  • Act as a representative of the SH&E Manager or Director on project sites as required.
  • Promote active participation and engagement from project personnel in identifying safety improvements and implementing best practices.
  • Support risk assessments and provide SH&E subject matter expertise during work planning and execution activities.
  • Assist with new employee safety orientation and onboarding programs.
  • Deliver regulatory compliance training and SH&E best practice training programs.
  • Maintain accurate SH&E training records and documentation.
  • Participate in routine safety briefings, toolbox talks, and workforce engagement activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Safety Specialists and other project personnel.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE/SH&E) roles.
  • Advanced knowledge of health and safety regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting procedures.
  • Strong understanding of safety-related industry standards and best practices, including ANSI, NFPA, and similar standards.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Experience supporting risk assessments and implementing corrective and preventive action programs.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, coach, and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and high-risk project environments.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP), Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or similar professional certification.
  • Experience on major infrastructure, transportation, rail, or construction projects.
  • Knowledge of risk management systems and occupational safety management frameworks.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring safety professionals within large-scale project environments.
