Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Field Engineering Manager to provide on-site construction oversight and field engineering coordination for a major facility relocation and development program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This role will support the successful execution of civil, structural, architectural, and MEP works by leading the field engineering team and coordinating with resident engineers, quality, HSE, and construction staff to drive project delivery performance.
The Field Engineering Manager will play a key role in ensuring technical compliance, resolving construction issues, managing site-based technical reviews, and maintaining high construction quality standards across all work packages.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the field engineering function across multiple concurrent construction packages and locations.
Coordinate technical oversight, constructability reviews, and issue resolution between design and site teams.
Supervise resident engineers and field staff in the delivery of quality, safety, and schedule milestones.
Conduct on-site reviews of construction progress, ensure alignment with design intent and specifications.
Support the change management process through timely review of site instructions, technical queries (TQs), and variation requests.
Coordinate field engineering input during inspections, commissioning activities, and final handover.
Support the project team in reviewing contractor submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and ITPs.
Monitor field compliance with safety and environmental standards and coordinate with HSE representatives.
Engage with stakeholders to manage site access, logistics coordination, and utilities interface.
Track and report on field-related risks, technical challenges, and quality issues.
Ensure all field records, reports, NCRs, and communications are documented in accordance with QA/QC procedures.
Participate in the review and closeout of construction contracts and ensure smooth project handover.
Provide mentorship and support to junior field engineers, inspectors, and site-based personnel.
EDUCATION & SPECIFIC ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master’s preferred).
PMP certification or Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
Minimum 15 years of field engineering and construction management experience, including large-scale infrastructure, building, or multi-phase developments.
Experience in PMC/consultancy roles overseeing major construction works is required.
Familiarity with GCC construction regulations and authority processes is an advantage.
Proven experience in leading site teams and delivering high-complexity, multidisciplinary works.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Strong technical knowledge in civil, structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines.
Proven leadership in managing on-site teams and resolving field issues.
Excellent communication and reporting skills, especially in a multi-stakeholder environment.
Deep understanding of construction processes, safety compliance, and field quality assurance.
Skilled in contract administration, site logistics coordination, and schedule tracking.
Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic project environments and adapt to evolving construction challenges.
