Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Estimation Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to lead the estimation team, developing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, and ensuring all estimates align with project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead the development of accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Supervise and mentor a team of estimators, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of all cost estimates and proposals.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure that estimates are based on comprehensive data and aligned with project scope and requirements.
- Monitor the progress of projects to ensure estimates are adhered to, identifying any variances or potential issues and developing solutions to stay within budget.
- Analyze historical data and market trends to ensure estimates reflect the most current and accurate pricing available.
- Identify potential risks related to cost estimation, providing recommendations for mitigating risks and ensuring financial stability on projects.
- Communicate cost estimates and justifications to clients and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clarity in all aspects of the estimation process.
- Continuously improve estimation methodologies and processes to enhance accuracy, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
- Provide regular reports on the status of cost estimates and any significant changes to management and other stakeholders.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field
- At least 15+ years of experience in cost estimation or project management, with a strong background in construction or engineering-related projects.
- Proven leadership experience, including managing teams of estimators and overseeing the estimation process for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and evaluate project specifications, pricing, and risks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex cost data clearly and persuasively to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in estimation software, such as Procore, RSMeans, or similar, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certifications in Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
