Job Description:
As an Environmental Manager with a background in Environmental Engineering, you will assist and support our client in delivering a large-scale master planned public realm design within the heart of Riyadh city center. You must be fully conversant in the use of environmental certification systems, developing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Reports, and Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP) within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Practical hands-on experience with construction works, contractors, and daily environmental requirements is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of sustainability certifications for buildings, infrastructure, and public realm through well-known systems such as LEED, BREEAM, WELL, and local certification systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Utilize and implement environmental certification systems.
Develop and manage EIA Reports and CEMP's.
Ensure compliance with local and international environmental standards.
Oversee and manage environmental aspects of construction works.
Liaise with contractors to ensure adherence to environmental requirements.
Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
Apply knowledge of sustainability certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, WELL, and local systems.
Guide project teams in achieving sustainability goals.
Prepare scope of work and change order technical documents.
Chair technical meetings and take minutes.
Resolve issues and develop solutions related to environmental management.
Understand and address issues related to schedule and budget compliance.
Implement value management strategies.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering (or equivalent).
Typically 12+ years of related experience.
Skills/Competencies:
Proficiency in the application of design standards, practices, techniques, and concepts.
Confidence in resolving technical issues through review and discussion with design consultants, design reviewers, and client teams.
Proficiency in CAD and other PC software packages.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Strong presentation skills.
