As an Electronics Engineer at Parsons you will leverage your expertise in physical and engineering sciences, mathematics, and electronic phenomena to perform a wide range of engineering tasks. You will be responsible for researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team to meet critical delivery schedules.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Engineering Application: Apply knowledge of physical and engineering sciences, mathematics, electronic phenomena, and the principles, techniques, and practices of electronics engineering.
- Circuit Knowledge: Utilize your understanding of electronic circuits, circuit elements, equipment, systems, and associated phenomena related to electromagnetic or acoustical wave energy or electrical information.
- Electrical and System Engineering: Perform tasks including researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
- Design Development: Develop designs for electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic use.
- Trade Studies and Assessments: Conduct trade studies, design, and technology assessments for emerging technologies.
- Team Collaboration: Work assertively and confidently as part of a team to meet critical delivery schedules.
- Test Procedures: Develop and execute test procedures using electronic test bench equipment.
- Design Documentation: Review design documentation for completeness and accuracy to ensure testing methodologies are acceptable for first-of-kind unit testing.
- Debugging: Communicate with design engineers and integration and test engineers to debug hardware and software issues.
- Circuitry Knowledge: Apply knowledge of linear (DC) and non-linear (AC) circuitry to complete test steps.
- Machine Code: Utilize knowledge of machine code, including the ability to convert hex to binary to instruction sets, to debug hardware issues.
- Troubleshooting: Apply hands-on troubleshooting experience to analyze and debug complex electronic assemblies.
- Analog Design: Design, develop, integrate, and test analog designs.
- Modeling and Simulation: Model and simulate to optimize designs and incorporate design margins.
- Design Analysis: Perform design analysis, technology assessments, and trade studies.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required.
- Bachelors and 5+ years experience or 11+ years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Masters and 8+ years experience or 16+ years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Must have a current/active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance if one is required in the future.
- Proficiency in electronic circuits, circuit elements, and systems.
- Experience with electromagnetic or acoustical wave energy and electrical information.
- Knowledge of linear (DC) and non-linear (AC) circuitry.
- Ability to convert hex to binary to instruction sets for debugging hardware issues.
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with complex electronic assemblies.
- Proficiency in designing, developing, integrating, and testing analog designs.
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools.
