Job Description:
Job Summary:
Our team seeks an Electrician Helper to learn on-the-job under the supervision of a journeyman electrician. The position will teach you how to assess and repair electrical problems on residential job sites. As an Electrician Helper, you will complete hands-on projects on job sites. Depending on your previous electrical experiences, your duties will include basic tasks and progress to more skill-based tasks as you gain more experience.
***This position is overseas on Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands on a long-term project.
Electrician Helper Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist a journeyman electrician and follow instructions
- Prepare and clean service truck and work areas
- Carry and deliver materials
- Follow established procedures and safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and assist in diagnosing problems to provide timely solutions.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good condition and adhere to proper handling procedures.
- Install, repair, and maintain various electrical wiring systems and equipment
- Use measuring equipment and hand tools to perform conduit work
- Follow safety codes and building regulations
- Helpers are expected maintain a professional appearance
- Read and comprehend Safety Rules and Policies and MSDS sheets
Electrician Helper Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Electrical experience required, preferably one year experience
- Completion of electrician training program preferred
- Able to diagnose problems using electronic test equipment
- OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Training and Safety Preferred but not required
- Knowledge of National Electric Code, state, and local building codes
- Eagerness to learn electrical schematics and blueprint reading skills
- Communication skills, ability to interact with other skilled trade professionals, designers, and clients.
- Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and climbing.
- Good driving record
