Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and innovative Digital Lead to spearhead the digital transformation of the cableway transportation system at Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC). This pivotal role involves integrating advanced technologies, intelligent systems, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and user experience.
Candidates must have extensive experience working in the concept, design and procurement phases of the project lifecycle along with previous experience of working in an Engineering Consultancy.
The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of digital strategies, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. This role requires expertise in BIM, data analytics, and smart technologies, as well as a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and customer-centric solutions.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Design Coordination:
• Manage and coordinate the design development process across multiple disciplines, which includes stations, depots, rail systems and infrastructure, underground structures and other transport solutions (Bus, RTS, mobility).
• Ensure that design deliverables are integrated, aligned, and meet project requirements, schedules, and budgets.
• Facilitate design coordination meetings and workshops to resolve technical issues and ensure effective communication among teams.
2. Digital Strategy and Innovation:
• Lead the digital strategy for the cableway transportation system, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and user experience.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the cableway system remains at the cutting edge of digital innovation.
3. BIM Implementation and Management:
• Implement BIM procedures in line with ISO 19650 standards during design, construction, and handover phases.
• Ensure the implementation and management of a Common Data Environment (CDE) to international standards, utilizing Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
• Provide support to project teams in setting up and maintaining BIM projects, including training on databases, data analysis, and COBie production.
• Oversee the assurance and quality checking of the information model and support 4D and 5D construction sequencing and cost strategies.
4. Design and Technology Integration:
• Collaborate with engineering, IT, and operations teams to integrate smart technologies (e.g., IoT, data analytics, and automation) into cableway operations.
• Contribute to object library development in alignment with the wider digital infrastructure strategy.
• Aid in the production of drawings and sketches as required by the team.
5. Stakeholder Engagement:
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Provide support to third parties to understand project requirements and ensure effective collaboration.
• Assist with the evaluation of RFP proposals and provide necessary support to the Transport Business Unit (TBU).
6. Operational Excellence and User Experience:
• Design and implement digital solutions to enhance the operational efficiency and safety of the cableway system.
• Oversee the user experience design process, ensuring services meet and exceed visitor expectations.
• Utilize data to develop insights and actionable recommendations for performance improvements and service enhancements.
7. Project Management:
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for digital initiatives within the cableway system.
• Demonstrate positive workplace behaviors in line with Qiddiya values and contribute to the successful delivery of digital projects.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
1. Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Transportation Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
2. Certifications:
• Certification in BIM Management or equivalent, with strong knowledge of ISO 19650 standards.
3. Experience:
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in BIM roles, preferably within transportation or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in project management methodologies, including Agile and traditional frameworks.
4. Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of digital technologies and their application in transportation systems.
• Proficiency in BIM processes, ISO 19650 standards, and tools such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Aconex for Common Data Environment (CDE) management.
• Experience in data-driven decision-making, 4D/5D construction sequencing, and cost strategies using information models.
• Proficiency in enterprise-level project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Aconex.
• Proven experience with Agile and traditional project management methodologies.
• Advanced knowledge of COBie production and assurance processes.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure delivery processes, including design, procurement, and construction.
5. Soft Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
• A passion for developing user-centric digital solutions and enhancing customer experience.

• Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken, with excellent technical writing skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated individual with strong organizational, leadership and project management skills.

• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards pertinent to the discipline and project location.
• Thorough knowledge of discipline engineering techniques, the design of engineered systems and design calculations.
• Must be able to review and understand project documents for technical accuracy and quality to ensure adherence to project plan.
• Proficiency in design and project management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM, Primavera P6).
• Knowledge of current computer applications for engineering and design including appropriate knowledge of CAD (both 2-D and 3-D) e.g., AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel for managing design reviews
• Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved.
• Proven track record of coordinating and delivering large scale projects.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs, with the ability to prioritize workloads and meet tight deadlines.
• Skilled in managing teams and delivering results in a collaborative, cross-departmental environment.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
• A professional license from a recognized licensing or registration board.
Experience working in Saudi Arabia and/or the Gulf region is highly preferred.
